Hey Everyone,

So for the last decade my chew of choice was Copenhagen Long Cut. I have been trying different "herbal chews" since quitting, and I just got an order of "Jakes Mint Chew" in the mail. If using the fake stuff helps you quit, I recomend this stuff. Its long cut mint leaves. I ordered Mint and Cinnamon and its amazing. Just thought I would pass it along.

Clint,

Lately, I have made it a new hobby to stop into almost every gas station I pass or notice just to stare down that damn rack of shit on the wall. Though the temptation is a bitch, I have been able to say no each and every time. I stare it down looking at it from the perspective that it will kill me if I take one more dip. Its habitual to look for "your selection" of dip. Guess what buddy? It's no longer your selection,.. Wait a minute, you're no longer "it's" selection. You walked away with the better hand. You've broken the barrier between you and the dip and now you need to fight off the temptations and habits that come along with getting away from that carcinogen bullshit.

Old habits die hard? No. You will die from old habits.

Thank your lucky stars that you are alive today because you quit. Some of the victims you see on your shifts may not be so lucky, but you my friend are!

You can and will get through this.

Proud to quit with you.

Okay Clint. This is bullshit bud. We need to get some resolve going here. You're past the physical and now its the mental. That shit was trying to kill you daily. That's all. That wasn't your friend or some soothing pacifier. That shit was poison in a can that some fucks orchestrated as a product. That product helped pave the way for your addiction. We have been fucked over on this one. Completely fucked over. You're worth more than a few bucks in some suit's bottom line. Aren't you? You shouldn't want to "stop and grab a can"...you should want to fire bomb every fucking 7-11 on the way to and from work. Next time you go into a cancer supply hut, you stare at those cans and give me the old "FUCK YOU BITCH". That's your enemy. Not your friend. Start treating it that way.

DISCLAIMER: I am not advocating anarchy. I just like my quit with extra passion on the side.

On day 6. Back at work for the first time since my quit. Wanted to stop and grab a can so bad today. But I didn't. I have 2 cans of the fake chew and a bag of sun seeds. I need your support gang. It's been hard today.
It will get better as long as you stay quit. So much better that even if I describe it, I doubt you would believe me.

There is no "Just one".

never again, for any reason.
Clint:

NO, NO, NO, you did not "want to grab a can so bad today." So you WANT to ingest a poison? The addiction is speaking to you. What you WANT is freedom. Imagine the disappointment in yourself that you will feel AS SOON as you touch it to your lips.

Nah, fuck that. I'm liking your quit dude. I'm watching like others are as well. Don't let me down.

You guys rock.  Just returned from a car crash (our On scene time was just over 2 1/2 hours) (It was a big crash). Was proud to make it the entire  call with out a dip. I did buy some of the fake chew, so I had that when everyone else started grabbing their cans. But still proud I am QUIT FOR 5 DAYS! And I was just around some pretty big temptations and never caved.

The support I am getting here is invaluable.
Well Done.
I dare say perfectly done. Keep up the good work.

Wow, looks like we got quite a family of responders here. I'll clip my tag on the ring, too.

You got your plan together for the weekend? Use your numbers and lean on folks if you have to. The first few weekends were tough for me. I found that manual leighbor in around the yard made me feel better and also kept the wife happy.
Nice work. Protect that quit brother. Be smart.

Clint - Sounds like we have similar careers (and similar stressors). For many years I worked prehospital EMS and for a about year in a 911 dispatch center. Now one of my jobs is to manager a air-medical communications center. Also lookes like we quit about the same time.

TacoMedic probably is in our family of first responders.

This type of work gives the nic bitch ammunition. She wispers in your ear, "You deserve this. After all the shit you saw today, all the disease and trauma, all the violence and pain. one little dip is not that big of a deal, YOU DESERVE THIS".

Beware. She is wispering those sweet nothings in my ear also. BUT. I'm determined to not cave. I will no longer be a slave to the can. I can beat this addiction, and TODAY, I give you my word, I WILL NOT USE ANY FORM OF NICOTINE TODAY. Tomorrow, I'll post roll call and make the same committtment, one day at a time.

So Clint, thanks for helping in my quit. Let me know how I can help you.

Clint,

Glad you decided to jump on the Freedom Train. I cannot gurantee that it will be easy, because it's not. What I can guarantee is that this will be the most rewarding thing you've ever done.

Remember your last dip. It was shitty, nasty, smelly and disgusting. Your brain will tell you differently in a few weeks. It will harken back to the "aahh" feeling you got the first time you put that lip turd in your pie hole.

Remember the shitty feeling of your last dip. Holla if you need help.

I quit with YOU, my friend.
Your mind is a lying, cheating, stealing whore. Your body is a saint. Now, who are YOU going to listen to?
