Deadstick - so whats up bro? You haven't responded since before the 10th of April! you still quit? We are here to help. I know what it is like fighting for your house with the flood and all but a 30 second electronic note would be a nice break for you and a mental relief for those who want to support you.

If you crapped out and caved, let us know so we can help get you back in the program.

Hell if nothing else cut and paste one of the following:

Quit + word ..finally got access to computer..sorry Bros.

Quit still going strong!

Sorry - the flood had me preoccupied. Still quit.

I am okay will get back to you when I have more time. Still quit.

Caved..I am using the non excuse that stress got the best of me.

Caved.sorry. Will get back to the board when I am more serious about it.

Caved. Love the bitch to much to respect you MOFO for trying to help ..so FO and leave me alone

it would be great to be dead at 55 or 67 like my dad wouldn't it?  67 is a great time to go!!!!  That way you don't get to see any of your grand kids graduate!!!  Yeah, that is a good time to go
I trust that statement is suppose to be sarcasm, kinda hard to tell without seeing your facial expressions or the tone inflections in your voice. Me I wanna live to see my grandkids marry...if I ever get any! LOL! Maybe even long enough to know a few great grandkids. Not only that , I got way to much livin to do and plans yet unfullfilled..Lord willing I get to live that long. One good reason to stay quit.

You're on your way. Hardcore. Don't look back. Join us in the July quit group, and take this ridiculous addicition by the balls.

Remember your wife and two kids. Remember that if you get cancer from dip, it most likely won't be in your 70s. You'll be dead before you're 55...or 45....or 35.

Glad to have you aboard deadstick!!!! I left you some helpful information over in the July quit group. You need to touch base with NDRooster in the April group, he hit the HOF yesterday and also lives in North Dakota. He has been a sand bagging SOB the last several weeks, but he stayed quit through it all!!!! Once again, welcome aboard, remember, we are all ex-dippers/chewers here, so whatever you are going through someone else has aslready been through it! Stay Quit!!! Your already past the hardest part, from here on out it's just a matter of beating the mind games that the nic bitch will throw at you!

Well looks like Rooster already introduced himself!!! No wonder he's in the HOF, he always takes care of business!! 'crackup'
If it wasn't for Physics and Law Enforcement!
I would be UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Great to find this site.  Today is my first day out of the house in 15 days - I live in ND, which if you've seen the news, has been ravaged by flood waters.  Well, 7 days into the flood, this 15-year chewer of Copenhagen Long Cut (about 1/2 can per day) ran out.  I've had a couple opportunities to get more (and in the first few days I would have since I hadn't made a conscious decision to quit, the opportunity just kind of presented itself).  I do, however, have 2 young children and a wife that I want to see for a long time, and have an office job with a recent promotion that doesn't lend itself well to a puffy lip all day long, especially when the VP stops by.

Anyway, still have a bit of a fog (was terrible first few days, then subsided, now is back again) but I figured if I've gone a week, I'm not going back.

I'm chewing sunflower seeds and Orbitz gum, but any other tips (if I can find the herbal chew stuff I will but I gotta catch a boat back to my island right after work).  I'm hesitant to try the nicotine lozenges because now that I've been off it for 7 days cold turkey, that would kind of be liking starting up again or something.

Good luck everyone,
First, you are right, stay away from the nic candies. The nic is out of your system now, there no reason to reintroduce it.....that is what you are addicted to anyway.

Second, there is no luck or hope in quitting, just hard work and balls of steel. Remove luck from your vocabulary.

Welcome to the site! The unfortunate circumstances surrounding your quit will soon prove to be the best thing that ever happened to you. Post up with your July 09 quit brothers, make your promise everday and get involved. Most of all, shout out if you need something.
Hey deadstick, I'm in your back yard... I helped build dikes and spent several days at the Fargodome filling sandbags. Man there was several times where the nic bitch tempted me doing those jobs but willpower and a desire to stay accountable to this group of rogue ruffians kept me down the straight and narrow.

STAY AWAY FROM ANY NIC PRODUCTS!! You are over the hump with it being out of your system now..any thing with nic - from a cigarrette to the patch to the chewing gum will just add back to your problems. I personally suggest staying away from the fake chew cuz - as in my case - the pacifier was still there and it was too easy for me to go back to the real stuff. Besides the fake still stains your teeth, gets inbetween the teeth and irratates the mouth lining. HOWEVER, fake is better than the real thing and you can pick up BACOFF at any of the Tobacco Cities we have up here. Hooch - you have to order.

I just hit my HOF yesterday - 100 days clean..if I can be of help - click on my name and it will bring you to a page that will let you pm me. I'' send you a pm in a bit.

Do as the others said - forget the words , try and hope - change that to I am quit and I will not chew. then sticj close to the boards. Looks like you got a lot going for you despite the flood situation...capitalize on it and make your future better.

Welcome to FTC!
Rooster
