I think we're all caught off guard about how profound the withdrawal can be. I know we all realize that the initial quit will be tough but I don't think we realize how bad it is until we're in it.
I had been quit about a week before I discovered this site. Thank god I did. I really just didn't know what the heck was going on and this site (thankfully) answered questions and put me more at ease.

Thanks to all of my quit brothers!

Why is it going through the break up with the nic/dip that some of us automatically think we are dying? When I had my major bout with anxiety I had written myself off numerous times. waking up all hours of the night wishing my daughter a fare the well. It's kind of funny in a sense that some of us think that way. I'm not worrying right now just thinking back on the past couple months. I've read and can relate to Chewie I belive that called himself a hypochondriac I am as well. I'm trying my best not to be.
Human nature my friend. This quitting is awesome, but at the same time it does some strange shit to us both physically and mentally. Hell nic is so powerful it will have you ready to take another dip because you're gonna die without it! The mental battles can be a huge challenge. 290 day's later the bitch still trys to sneak up on me daily but I will admit, most of the time I can laugh it off but when I can't I text a brother just to feel I'm not alone. My advice go get a complete physical, most insurance companies pay for one a year, no charge, piece of mind, goes a long ways. But I would bet the farm it's all in your mind. Quit on my brother, you're doing great!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

I've about seeded myself to blahsville. I guess I need some BBQ flavored. I need to find something else. Maybe some type of hard candy as well.
Try toothpicks. There are flavored ones out there somewhere, but I prefer the plain ol wood ones. I barely touch seeds or gum anymore and I never did the fake stuff. Toothpicks are pretty much it. Nice job EHC, you're killing it every damn day. Keep it up.
I used SM for the first few weeks. Last can I bought I took one plug from it and spiked it in the trash. I will try the toothpicks. ty KingNothing

Thank you Pab! Quitting on with you. ODAAT.

I will pick up some cinnamon candy tomorrow. It's definitely one more proud mental moment knowing I was able to push forward today and tonight. Thanks again!

The intense cravings sucks! I still get them occasionally after 288 days but they last only minutes now compared to hours before. One thing I will say is we all realize it's mainly mental and the farther along you get the easier to ignore the craves become. You done great try cinnamon hard candy, works well for me also fruit candy hard. Quit on! Damn proud to be quit with you today my friend!

Today started out good. As the day went on the cravings started creeping up. Grabbed my 52 degree wedge started hitting the little white ball up and down the hill. Hitting the seeds real hard. After several trips up and down the hill I was able to get past it.

After supper. This hasn't happened in a while but when I got done eating I thought dang. What is up it's back! Started chewing the ice breaker gum like it was going out of style. I made it through again. Weird how these things work.
It seems to me that you just flew right by a bunch of triggers. Nicely done! :D

Just read this intro for the first time and really liked what I saw - that being a potential badass in the making. But, before posting a response I went over to your quit group's spreadsheet to check your posting rate. 100%. Suspicion confirmed and we have a bonafide badass quitter. Good stuff Eye. Keep posting roll and start thinking about how you can take your quit to the next level...how can you strengthen your foundation of quit?
Thank you steakbomb! Appreciate the words!!!!

Today I will go play golf with my gum and David Sunflower seeds. This will be the first time without the evilness on a golf course and I look forward to it. I won't have to worry about spitting the nasty when I'm on the green.................... Freedom is nice.

Used to play every weekend and a couple times during the week.
