Been sitting back, hoping and praying and will continue to do so for my buddy/brother George. He had a setback from a reaction to the chemo treatments the week before Thanksgiving. He has been in the hospital since then.

So far he has had 3 surgeries on his hand due to complications/staff infection.

His heart, kidneys and other organs weren't doing so good at first. Now those are under control.

The update I got last night was pneumonia was possibly setting in and they were going to test today to confirm.

Please continue to pray for him and his family.

Ditto. Praying for him and family, and for you and yours. Early congrats on the half-comma, BTW!
Thanks Cavman and Pab!

Outlook isn't great on George but still praying. That's my buddy!

Have you hit the BIG 100? Wonder what happens next? Here is what I remember.

100. So excited. Posted how I was going to keep one foot in front of the other and do things as I had day to day. Although that holds true, I wasn't aware of what was coming my way. Boredom. Boredom with quitting. Counting the days now sucked. Complacency. Guess what? Again it's been said again and again but, with the same message in the end. It's the nic trying to sweet talk you into coming back. My suggestion is to further your own quit by reaching out to one of the new quitters, for example, Feb or Jan 17 quit groups. Talk to them if you are one of those that haven't made that leap yet to reach out to someone other than in your quit group. Exchange information. This I really think will allow your quit to go better than it is now. Give you that pep in your step.

Day 428. I thank this site and it's members.

I have been posting some updates in my november 15 quit group and I thought why not just bring it here.

I have a Brother, not a blood brother but, a Masonic Brother. Without giving anything away for those that aren't Masons, there is a difference between a brother and a "other." This is something that we all experience when one decides to join the Blue Lodge and you actually show up to lodge and aren't a card totter. This man has been there for me from day 1. When my grandmother passed away and 5 months later when my mom passed away as well.

My Buddy as I call him has cancer on the back of his tongue. He is also an older man. Smoked for X amount of years, and has dipped since he traded in smoking. He first had a knot/swelling on his neck, right behind his right ear. This was a year ago. I had mentioned to him then that he needed to seek other medical assistance and not to trust these home town doctors. They would give him antibiotics and the swelling would go down but, not away.

Fast forward to this year as he finally went to see an ENT. They ran the light down him and unfortunately cancer is what they found. As of right now he has done the following to prepare for his radiation and chemo treatments.

1. Has had 2 CAT scans.
2. Has had a PET scan.
3. Had all teeth removed top and bottom (yes, he wasn't missing many)
4. Had his port put in Friday so he can begin chemo treatments.
5. Begins radiation this coming week.

With all of that said he has not one time complained or placed blame anywhere. He has the best/positive outlook that one can have. The doctor has told him twice that he believes 110% that this can and will be gone once the treatments are finished.

I just ask that you all send a prayer his way and I will continue to post updates as he progresses. Thanks, Eyehatecope.
Prayers for your Masonic brother. I hope he makes a full recovery!
On it....
With you Brother.
Prayers up!
Prayers for your brother.
