You want advice?

-wake up, post roll, take first breath of the day.  Make it that important.

-drink 2 gallons of water a day for the first couple of weeks.  I can't take credit for this great line, but if you walk by a bathroom and don't have to go, you aren't drinking enough.

-nyquil or tylenol pm at night.  Your body needs sleep to get back to normal.

-post roll

-get phone numbers from peoplein your quit group.  Ask vet quitters who offer you support for their number.  When you crave hard? Call.  About to buy a can?  Call.  Not near a computer? Text someone and ask them to post roll for you.  This is more important than you think.

- knowledge is power.  Read more than what you have.  Know what to expect so when it happens, you can tackle it.

-post roll.

-spend as much time on the forum and in live chat as possible.

-water, walk, willpower

-pushups and wall squats when you crave so bad you think your head will explode.

- post roll.

If you truly want to be quit, you will use these hints and use the support and resources the website offers.  Ask, talk, discuss, request, question, and beg.  Post roll.

Day 1
« on: June 17, 2012, 09:59:00 PM »
Pretty much made it through day 1. Ill be asleep before long hopefully. I didnt want to post at all before I knew if I could make it through at least one day. Though I did do the roll call this morning. I quit for a month about 3 years ago, so this will be the first day in 3 years I have went without a dip in my mouth. I caved because I thought I had it whooped and I could buy 1 can to get me through a long drove I was on. 5 years total is not long compared to alot of you, but it surprises me. I figured it would be something I would try and be able to put down whenever I wanted like I did other tobacco products. Before I knew it I had to have it. Tomorrow is what will be hard. Going to work with a few other dippers. Ill be feeling those triggers all day long. The drive to, the drive from and after lunch will be the worst. Ive told myself at least once a month I was going to quit for a couple years now. This was another one of those weekends that would have probably come and gone with no change, but I found this site which gave me the motivation to get through today without nicotine. Im going to make it through tomorrow also. Any advice on navigating this site, or anything else will be appreciated. I have already read Tom and Jenny's story and read about the withdrawel symptoms. Thanks.
