I look forward to doing my taxes now - tried doing them on a foggy day - I have Uncle Sam owing me enough to start my own NFL team with Peyton Manning and Tebow both on the team. I think I took too big of a deduction somewhere - oh well - the fog is lifting - Thank you Lord.
I celebrate your clarity, Dave. Nice avi. Noticed you are getting ready to do taxes...I just finished personal returns on Fed and two state with TurboTax 2011. Let me know if you need a hand...forgive my day 2 quit fogginess.
Calling it "role call", because accountability to role models is the path to quiterrificness.

Good decision on kicking Ms. Niccy to the curb. This site can be helpful. There are no short cuts, but here are some links that will help you navigate this site. Rule number one, this is a no nicotine site, period, end of story.

Dave you did the best thing by quitting for you first. Posting roll is the single most important thing you can do every day. We quit daily, no tomorrow or for the week, quit today and honor that promise is all we ask. Read everything you can on the site, a ton of good advice from some really bad ass quitters. If you need anything, reach out and ask, be glad to help. This aint gonna be easy, but damn is it worth doing.
A promise not kept is the road to exile.

If quitting is cool, consider me Myles Davis.

Unless you bring value onto my 1/2 acre, I don't want to hear it.

Congrats on your QUIT and proud to quit with you. You got my prayers and support. I've begged all the close people to me to say extra prayers. Believe they are because this quit has been way different then the other 5,000 quits I've had. Always helps when the big man upstairs is giving you a little extra help. I also believe in this site. The support and commitment has made a huge difference for me. A - I view my word as Gold, I will never go back on my daily promise. B - I love the lines like "We quit cold turkey around here, drop the patch Nancy." Just read that one aimed at a new quitter. People tell it like it is around here and that too is how I have lived my life. May not always be the most popular thing to say or politically correct, but damn it, if I'm gonna sleep at night then I better get it off my chest. Post roll everyday and stay close to this site. It has made the difference for me.

Outstanding choice Dave-
Way to go. You don't need our prayers Dave, you can do this and we will help.
Go read everything in the Welcome Center. Post roll every day in your quit group (june 2012) to affirm your quit each morning. Get to know people in your quit group.
Give me a shout if you need anything.
I'll quit with you today Dave.
Fish, eat, sleep. Repeat.

A new quit
« on: March 20, 2012, 09:47:00 AM »
So - about 13 years ago I quit for about 1 year - and 3 years ago I did a cheater quit.
(gum and longenzes with the fake stuff - I still have 5 cans of Bacc Off - from March 2009). Have made it 3 full days and am in day 4 - NO NICOTINE - in my system.

Feels great - except my mouth looks like a war zone due to the pumkin seeds and pistachios and sweet tarts and other stuff thats gone in the pie hole.

Determined to make it this time.

Why?
Lower blood pressure
Lower Cholestoral
Have a marathon swim goal
Tired of the monkey
Money
Tired of the lie
Tired of the idol
Tired of the pride
Better breath - happier wife
Don't like testing fate - 30yrs of this crap
My dad quit smoking in his 40's
I dont want grandchildren to see it someday
I owe it to my family
Tired of the control
Tired of justifying

I ask for your prayers in making it happen - thank you
