I am on Day 7, of giving up a can a day of copenhagen habit of 20 years. Really sick and not much sleep for the first days, bad headaches and the the fog is terrible. Somehow need to keep thinking one day at time!!!
After 76 days, I think that this needs to be cleaned up a bit. Mostly for me to look back at and always be reminded of what fighting an addiction is all about. I used the word habit which was quickly and correctly changed to addiction by some more experienced bad ass quitters. I am learning through this site how to hate this addiction, the bitch will not control me anymore. My quit has been no harder or easier than anyone else on this site (quitting is hard work) breaking addiction is hard for everyone. I look at my introduction and remember this foggy addict who was just looking for help anywhere, almost in desperation. I need to always recall the suck and never loose sight of the fact that this addiction needs to be attacked ODAAT. I have never tried to break this addiction prior to this, and need to remember that success is simple, post roll, honor your promise repeat. Win today.
76 days is a bad ass quit.....is that a PSU logo for your avatar?

Very nice.
Gets it.
Feed your quit EDD like you fed your addiction. Mid 70s-mid 80s have been tough on a lot of people- keep working on that quit every day. Quit with you!

Hey Randy,
Congrats on quitting and welcome to the best place you could have found to help your sorry ass. We were all there, brother, and it will suck until it doesn't. Good news is that at some point it will not suck as much.
You need to focus on the moment even more than the day when the craves get bad. Drink a lot of water and fruit helped me through the suck. Take a deep breath and enjoy the fact that bit by bit you are winning.
Immerse yourself here. Knowledge is your secret weapon against the nic bitch. Learn to hate her and all she stands for.
If you need anything, shoot me a PM.

Welcome to KTC, Randy.

You came to the right place, and you have the right mindset of handling it one day at a time. Get as many numbers in your phone as you can (send me a PM if you want mine), and don't be afraid to reach out when you need a distraction from the nic bitch whispering in your ear.

You can do this!

Hang in there Randy. I'm still struggling myself with sleeping patterns, but it seems to be getting a lot better as of late. Keep yourself busy and your mind occupied. Change some of your daily routines, maybe start an exercise program and drink a shit ton of water (everybody keeps emphasizing this point and it works). I'm in the November quit group as well. Send me a PM if you need some digits.

Welcome and congratulations. Get ready for a hard mental and physical battle but you can do it.
Read everything on this site and post roll, and repeat. PM for digits.

Welcome in bro.

One thing to get your head straight... Nicotine is not a habit you need to be rid of... It's an addiction you need to break free from. This place has everything you need. Get involved and stay involved. It works.
Welcome.
It's always good to see another slave taking back his freedom.

Stick around and your quit will stick.
We do this ODAAT...YOU can too.

Read, read, drink the KoolAid, it will save your jaw and tongue and probably your job.
Cheers.
Keeping my jaw and tongue...I like them.

Welcome, Randy. Is this your first time here? If so, get on over to the November Quit Group (that's your quit group and mine) and post up roll for the day. Be sure to read the instructions carefully before you post roll. It's not hard, but it can be a little tricky for a first timer compounded with early quit fog.

Once you have posted roll, understand that it is your solemn promise to yourself and to everyone else that you are not going to use any nicotine today, no matter what. We post roll like that first thing every day. This site is all about building support through accountability, and making that promise is the first and most foundational step in fostering that accountability. It only takes a few seconds to maybe a minute to do, and then expectation is to post roll every single day. That means weekends, holidays, vacations, etc. You have to make a commitment to staying nicotine-free one day and a time, and taking days off from that promise seriously undermines that.

Enough with the lectures...

You made a fantastic decision to quit and an even more fantastic decision to come here for support. You will not find a more passionate, direct, and diverse group of quitters here to help you through the worst of the worst than at KTC. The good news for you is that the first 7 days are finally behind you. The fog will soon begin to lift and things will start to get more manageable. Bit by bit, but it does happen.

You'll want to start building your support network as well, so PM me if you need digits.
