Love all the kansas quit going on in here!

You've got some bad asses on your team already. So... I'll just say a little. First , I work for an alcohol company in kansas. If anyone would say "drink", it would be me. It helps make my house payment. But, please, be very very careful for at least 50 days. I didn't drink at all for 50. This is too important.

Next, post roll every day first thing. Yeah you'll fuck it up for a while. It is some kinda hazing at first. But it keeps you accountable to yourself and others , and as time goes by it will help remind you of where you were at the beginning. You will not believe what this important change will do for you.

Finally, get some numbers. I would start with (gasp) jayhawk. He is a great guy and a great mentor. Dude humped the can for a lot of years but now preaches his hatred. He gets it. Get several numbers, and use them. It feels kinda weird to call a stranger and talk about how you feel vulnerable... But, here's the thing, every one of us gets it. And, likely, no one in your life does! Nicotine is a fucker. But you can beat it down. One day at a time.

If you would like my contact info, let be know. I'd be honored to be on your team.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks guys, really worried about the beer thing too. Beer = chew. So, probably off the beer for a while as well which will be challenging.  Focused on working out, working hard at my job and letting good things happen.
K-State: I hate to write this but we have had cavers here. I've been quit 666 days today and read many confessions of caving. All of them but one admitted they were drinking when they chose to go back on their word for the day and cave. So as advised (Not required) it is recommended not to drink for the first 50 day's of your quit.

Sounds like you already understand why. Effects of nicotine are so predictable. If you haven't read this Click here yet, I can very well promise you...this is what you have in store.

It takes a strong mind and will to quit. We all get beat to our knees at times. This is where you come to get strength. Read, Write, Chat and make friends. You are going to need them.
Welcome to getting your life back. You're in the right place.
I am on my first and last quit. On my day 1 a quitter named MikeA called me.
You see, I can't even remember what it was like to "not dip". So naturally I was petrified of the triggers. Scared to death.
My angel, MikeA told me, "Don't worry about the triggers, because Life is a Trigger".
Once I wrapped my head around that, I knew I found the power to quit ODAAT and NAFAR.
Post roll Mister
Keep your word all day
Wake and repeat
and You too can "be quit" for Today. Just Today.
30isEnuff day 595 because the KTC way works, period!!

PS -

Beer and chew used to go together like peanut butter and jelly for me.

Try to lay off the brew - it will help.

K-State - I can't believe I didn't see your intro earlier!!! You probably don't want my Jayhawk screwing up your intro page, but hey, this ain't hoops or football we are dealing with here. We are dealing with saving your life, so I will save my Rock Chalk rants and focus on your quit. Fair?

First, congratulations on deciding to quit! Lots of folks here have battled through the fight you are going to be dealing with. So, lean in on us and read everything you can.

A little about me - I chewed Copenhagen for way too many years. Not really even sure how many. I know I was dipping at 16 and I am 40 today. I had a really bad fog set in on me at the outset of my quit. I went through irritability, anxiety, sleep problems and weird dreams. Mine lasted for a solid month and a half. Some folks go through this for about 5 days to a week. Mine was longer. I'm not sure if it correlates with the years a person dipped, or not.

The advice I will give you is the best advice given to me. I see the same advice written all over this website. It is truly simple, but freaking hard to do. Just make your promise every day by posting roll. Then, you got to live up to that promise. That shit will be calling your name and you will have some weird cravings - just don't give in. Just don't. Fight this bitch one second, one minute, one hour, one day at a time. Focus on the VERY short term. Listen to the other veteran quitters here and follow their lead. I also found it was helpful to jump in and start helping others out. Even if they are just a week behind you. You will have a great deal of insight to provide to them - not to mention support.

Sorry to be long winded but, I feel strongly about helping out folks around here when I can. PM me if you need anything. I will PM you.

Finally - check out all the bad ass quitters around here. We have all been working at this quit thing every day. You can do it if you listen and follow the advice you get here.

Good to see you quit.

EMAW!

Very smart move. Alcohol is the biggest quickest quit killer out there. Be in control of your quit first... ease back into everything later. Your quit is priority number 1.

Welcome to KTC KState. Since you have posted roll, I want to take a moment to explain the rationale behind why we do it and what it means to us. Roll is your daily promise to yourself and all of your new brothers and sisters that you will not use tobacco in any form that day. You will post your name and the number of days you are quit each day in the April, 2014 quit group. Each and every day you will post your promise. No exceptions. That is the price of admission to KTC. Nothing more and nothing less. If your electricity quits working, your internet provider goes bankrupt or you are on vacation and will not have internet access, call or text a quit brother and tell the brother to post for you. Simple and easyÂ…and therefore, no reason for not posting roll. The reason you are put in April is that will be the month that you will celebrate being 100 days free of nicotineÂ…your Hall of Fame date and your Birth Date. Congratulations on making the best decision of your life. Wayne

New to KTC and quitting. 30 year dipper, Skoal long cut for a majority of the time except for the last few years on the skoal pouches.  I went cold turkey on Sunday night January 5th, 2014 for no real apparent reason other than just wanting to quit.  As you all know, it is terrible. I figured out post roll after a few times (sorry) and am going to stick to the plan. My day 100 as it turns out falls on my 45th birthday so I thought this was a interesting coincidence.          'bang head'

Welcome in bro. Don't worry about screwing up roll call... it's required. Pretty sure we've all done it. Lots.

Stick to this plan man... it works. One thing to very much keep in mind is our One Dat At A Time mentality (ODAAT). Looking ahead won't do you any good... you can't control anything. Right now, though, you control. You need any help or have any questions, please shout out man. Send me a pm if you'd like another number in your arsenal...
Just wanting to quit is a hell of a lot better than someone else wanting you to quit!
