so here i am with the fiance makin some dinner, waitin for survivor and readin up on some posts. and i start reading a intro from jaygib and noticing that he talks about god on some of his posts. he also points out that there are times he thinks of dipping. well it started to don on me, this will be my first weekend nic free, and i look at my fiance and say "this week is gonna be hard" and as i say that i hear her say "have faith"... i look at her to say something and realized she wasnt talking to me rather than the word jumble on wheel of fortune! found it wierd, funny, coincidental but at the same time spiritual considering i was just reading jaygibs intro... just thought i would share that!
You need to start posting stuff like this in your group. It will promote accountability. This is the intro section and as far as i member this is your 3rd or 4th post in the intro section.

Post this stuff in yer group brudda.
Get in there and talk it up. The bonds you form early will serve you well later on. Give and get numbers !!
This is great stuff for your group ........ and for what it's worth, have faith. I mean that with all sincerity. I am more healthy now physically, mentally and spiritually than I have ever been. One thing the nicotine beast did was blind me to my condition in all of the above areas. Now that I am free, I am addressing all of those areas. Congrats, let me know if I can help!

For what its worth ---
After three decades, lots of triggers for me too, especially at night. I started getting up 45 minutes earlier and running. Between exercise and lack of nic in my system I am now falling asleep about 11 at night instead of 1-2am. Getting back in shape and staying clean - not a bad combo.

2:15 am and i cant F'ing sleep! i tried to hit the hay early and woke up every hour... its driving me nuts! its like i said in one of my dreams, i feel like my mind is wide awake but my body is daggin! ugh guess we will see how 2marrow goes wen roll call rolls around... for now im gonna try to get some damn sleep!
Your body is going through some major changes, all for the better.

If you're having a hard time sleeping (like I did) I would recommend trying to work out more. Really exhaust yourself through the day.

I've also heard other guys suggest Nyquil or Tylonol PM for sleeping. I haven't tried them, and I don't know how you feel about it, just putting it out there.

Bottom line is, nicotine is a stimulant, so it didn't help you sleep. Your sleeplessness is the nic whore pissed at you. She's fucking with you so you will cave. Don't be a pussy and give in to her. Fight! Win!

PM if you need anything.
Just my 2 cents on this stuff. I use Tylenol Simply Sleep. It's basically Tylenol PM but without the pain killer part, just the drowsy stuff.

Been using it since way before the quit. Had hard time falling asleep since I was a kid. I would never use hard core sleeping pills cuz I've heard horror stories, and addict stories. But this is just enough to make you drowsy, like benadryl. It's so mild that if my kids cry at night I still wake up, and sometimes it doesnt even put me to sleep.

Keep up the good work.

Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn once.
the fiance gave me some kava kava extract last night (was kinda freaking out, very emotional, thought i was having a panic attack, shit like that). i dont know if it was just a placebo effect but that shit seemed to work pretty good, im gonna take a couple to work just in case i get some crazy craves today, thanks for all the advice everyone

No you didn't. You're addicted to nicotine. Don't romanticize that shit in here, or anywhere.

Just remember - this is part of the damage nicotine has done. Get mad, and get through it.
