I attempted to quit last August and failed miserably - picked up the nasty habit and told myself I was going to quit Jan. 1, 2014. I have done better, but I have had the occasional chew every few days and then I'm back to square 1.
Today is my dad's birthday, and I am making the commitment to myself and him that I am done for good. I have been able to pick up on some stuff that has helped me so far this year, like only chewing gum when I'm having a craving, and drinking a SHIT TON of water all the time.
Any support, tips, or good stories are greatly appreciated!

Casa -- You were a stone's throw from 60 straight days of 100% roll posting and disappeared. What's the story, man? Your track record doesn't inspire confidence in the possible explanations for going offline. Based on the thread, it seems you've got at least a couple of #s from solid quitters in your inbox...really hope you just lost your phone and had zero access to a computer for the past few days...
I got a tip for you: Don't be a pussy ass caver this time! Get your shit together and stay quit. Work the program.
I sure as he'll hope this is speculation...I know for a fact that you have at least one 24/7 quit hotline number and text. I was the first from October to question you and offer my hand to you, it's still here no matter the case but I hope that you:
A. Lost internet and your cell service was cut
B. You fell into a hole not a cave
C. You have been abducted by aliens
D. Your wife left you chain to the bed and you haven't even returned to work
However, if none of these excuses fit then please let me know your quit is either solid or needs to be "re-aligned"
