Texas,

Pat yourself on the back. For the next 24 hours, you are one bad a$$ quitter. Nice. Smile. Focus on today. 1 day at a time.

Congratulations, brother. You did the right thing. The next few days are going to suck balls for you but it will get better soon. I'm on day 6 myself right now and things are starting to get easier. I bought a shitload of bubble gum.. .might want to think of using something to replace the oral fixation until you get over the nicotine withdraw.

Texaslifer, I found out my wife and I are having our 1st in December as well. That was the last bit of motivation to quit that I needed.

Today is day 50 and I'm freed of the hold the nic bitch had on me. Just quit today and don't do the shit anymore.

Hey J.P.!

I saw you just posted a day 1 in October. Congratulations on beginning your quit. You've got a long way to go and it won't be easy, but it will be worth it!

If you need a number, send me a pm.

What helped me at this stage was "quit rage." I got so pissed and angry at the stuff that whenever a crave came my way (and there were many) I literally screamed, "no," and gave dip the finger.

Find something else to do when the craves hit. They don't last forever. Cancer usually does.

Texas,

#1 POST ROLL and make that promise to your October quit brothers and be a man of honor and keep that promise. Don't worry about tomorrow only QUIT TODAY! YOU can ONLY QUIT TODAY!

#2 In addition to the support you get on this site (get familiar with everything and read everything on the site--information is power)--get your wife, a trusted friend and your doctor involved in your quit.

#3 YOU are and ADDICT that will have to quit every day to stay away from nicotine. You must KNOW this. It will get better over time, but the only thing that matters is quitting today.

#4 Remember why you Quit--it must be for yourself first! Read the cancer stories and scare yourself silly because it is the truth!

#5 Two choices---quit today or die of cancer--that's an easy choice!

I quit 61 days ago--it was the best choice of my life! I quit today too that was the best choice!

Do IT!

PM me if you need anything

Thank you for your support. I find the info on what roll call is but where do I sign up? Or what do I do? I want to get involved. If someone is holding me accountable as well I am a lot less likely to let them down.
This is how you post roll:

index.php?showtopic=50

and the super secret video showing the same:

http://www.killthecan.org/roll/

Your quit group is October. Which is in the link DC put up.

index.php?showtopic=4873

Posting roll means you put your word down you will not use today. So get up every morning and put your word down.

Should today be the day? YOU BET YOUR FUCKING BOTTOM DOLLAR. 8 years ago should have been the day. No more killing yourself bro. This is it.

Let's get some conviction going here Lifer. YOU ARE QUIT...the moment you dumped that piece of cancer candy or lip turd from your lip, you quit. You can do this. Get to know your brothers and sisters in October. Get some accountability going. Post roll every day. No "but the..." or "I couldn't..." excuses. Can't get to a computer? Text it to a quit brother/sister.

You don't think you can quit....YOU QUIT. I quit today and I plan on quitting tomorrow. That's about all I manage today...its hot and my wife is carrying her gun in the house today so I'm not going to push my luck.

You got this my man!! These next 72 hours are going to SUCK. Embrace it!!! Remember every single moment of it. And when you are quit 5, 50, 100 days from now and you feel the urge to have a dip, remember how much misery you went through to get to the point your at. Who in their right frame of mind would ever want to go through that again?!?!

We have all been in your shoes, and from your perspective, it's a scary fight. But let me tell ya, it gets better real fast. Post roll everyday and keep your word. Soon enough you will feel like a new man, FREE FROM THE NIC BITCH!!!

You can do it!

Well I am 26 and have been dipping for 8 years. I went from a two can of Cope/skoal a day to moving to pouches thinking it was not as bad for me. I seriously have two pouches in all day except when I eat. I recently found out that my wife and I will be having our first kid in December. I know I need to quit and I think I want to. What is the best way. Should I gradually stop, use other nicotene products to quit, or just stop cold turkey. I am sitting here about to throw my can in the garbage, but I know when my next craving comes I will dig it out and put another in. What is the best way or does it differ for everyone. I want to be around to see my son and daughter grow up. I just dont think mentally I can quit. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

J.P.
jp~

sitting where you are right now is the scariest time and place during a quit. can i do it, should i do it, etc. deep down inside you know the answer, or else you wouldn't be here. it's time. you can do this. you should do this. and if you want it, you will do this.

a couple of things:

1. you have to quit for yourself and your own reasons. you have to have solid ground to stand on when the nic demons visit you.

2. KTC is a cold turkey site. there are other ways, and there are other sites. KTC is amazingly successful BECAUSE it is cold turkey and because of the support you'll receive as a quitter.

3. there is no tomorrow here. you can't "quit tomorrow." take your can, flush the contents, find your hidden spare, and flush that shit too. either sack up or find someplace else to coddle you.

4. you only quit for 24 hrs at a time, but you do it every time. you wake up, post roll (your promise to stay nic free for the day), keep your word, and then repeat the next day.

5. stay active on the site... read your way through craves. the first three days suck... no matter what. we've all been there. we made it through and you can too.

go to october 2011 and post roll. once you do and quit for real, you'll be surprised by the support you'll receive.
