Thanks for all the kind words and support. There is no way I would be here today, a year quit , without my wonderful KTC community. Hitting HOF was exhilarating. Reaching one year is more of a quiet calm and serene confidence that I can continue this state of freedom one day at a time. Quit with you all today!
Congrats man. Sorry I'm late. Check your PM.

Aside from myself (obviously), no one has been more instrumental to my quit than you, CJ. Your methodical and disciplined approach to accountability is unmatched, and I am fortunate that I'm in the population in whom you chose to invest your time and efforts. I'm truly honored to be associated with you on this site and humbled each and every day as you post "ChristopherJ ### - with Hando" in my quit group.

Today, that ### is 365. Congratulations and well deserved, CJ. Its a really big deal and I'm really proud of you. Know that I really appreciate all that you've done for me, watching my back and checking in on me. You very well may have saved my life, and I'll never forget that.

Christopher J, congratulations on your 1 year quit. Quite an inspiration to many of us. Thanks for your support in my group and everywhere on this site. I quit with you today.

I've been dipping for many years and have tried to quit multiple times but never made it more than a couple months - usually just days. But I read the book called the Power of Habit. The author says that to break a habit/addiction you can't do it on your own. You need a community. Well I'm scared and I want to quit and I need some help. I am not good with computers, no Facebook etc. this is the first time I've posted on a board. Thanks in advance for anyone who takes time to reply. I'm not the type of person to ask for help but I don't want to fail again and tell myself stories. Yes I'm worried about cancer. And also worried and ashamed of what I might put my family through if it happens. I've got a favorite band that has a song that goes "I will change tomorrow, tomorrow I will change". That's what I've been telling myself for years. No more.
This was you one year ago. You joined KTC and like many of us, were scared and almost hopeless after many years of trying to win alone. You are a model quitter, a great mentor, and a true friend. Today you win as a team, one day at a time.

Today you celebrate a year of freedom! Enjoy your day - you've helped a lot of others along your journey and woven a strong web of accountability. You've earned this!
Great quit going on here, congrats brother!
Congrats on a huge milestone today Christopher! You are important part of my quit everyday. Thank you for everything and keep going!

Almost daily I experience new ways that being quit has changed my life for the better. Just last weekend, my wife surprised me with a birthday trip to a cabin in the woods a couple of hours away. "Pack your hiking boots and a sports jacket". I happily went along with this and had a fantastic weekend. If this happened a year ago, I may have panicked and possibly made an excuse for not going, or would have had to come up with a scheme to hide a can and sneak off at some point to be by myself. That was me and I'm not proud of it. But today I'm different and very grateful for that. CJ
Coming up on a year of freedom, right? it is an honor to quit with you. EDD.
So many little things we missed all those years sticking shit in our mouths, stop sometimes when I realize one and just smile! Damn proud to be quit with you my friend!
This is what quitting is all about Chris. Real freedom to enjoy the important things in life and not running off alone to poison ourselves. I love it that you are enjoying your new free life!
These little things are the real eye-openers for me early in the quit. It's amazing how many great opportunities I let slip by, only to cuddle with a carcinogenic poison. Feels good to be free.
"Fuck nicotine dude. You don't need it. And you don't want it. It didn't do a thing for you and you know it." - worktowin
"today you dissided that shit wont control your life. and it wont. unless you let it." - drome
"Not thinking about nicotine is for people who've never used nicotine. We threw that option away with the first dip or drag on a cigarette. We are addicts, and cannot become un-addicted." - wildirish317
"You need to decide how much you really want to be quit." - pky1520
We are always at risk. And probably always will be. That is why I will never get "too quit" to post my +1. Every. Damn. Day. - geis2597
