Emily, i have tried the Hooch and found the texture to be very similar to Cope. the feeling in your mouth should be very consistent with how Cope feels. the cleanup is a bit more involved, but if you are a brusher (brush after each dip) like me then you'll be ok.Â
Smokey Mountain is more like the long cut chew and seems to be ok, but it is also very hard to clean out. stay strong and don't give in to the cravings.
This past weekend was definitely difficult because it was the first time I went out to bar, without one in my mouth! Luckily, I have a good group of friends that know that I quit and remind me of that, except for one, he let me smell the Cope, but I definitely was reminded as I watched him put one in, that I don't one, nor do I need one! It was a good weekend, but I definitely think I'm going to have to try Hooch or something of that sort. I definitely think that I was missin my ring in my pocket and something in that pocket of my lip...but I am proud of myself for NOT giving in this weekend! And thanks, everyone has been a tremendous help and encouragement and thanks to CoachDoc for kickin my ass at the same time! Ya'll been awesome!
Well he is not a very good friend if he is going to wave an open can under your nose and temp you this early in your quit Emily. Glad to hear that you didn't cave when he done that. If you need anything or a number pm me here to support ya.
Totally agree with bigduke... the a-hole who put the can near your face is NOT a good friend. Dump out that pricks can the next chance you get. See if it happens again!!! Stay strong quitter!!! Folks are lined up to support you. You need anything, all you gotta do is let us know. PM if you need a #
Shit, I would have punched that motherfucker right in the mouth after tempting me and then putting a fat one in. Fuck that limp dick son of a bitch.
I agree that you should dump his can, punch him in the face.....but I still wonder why new quitters like to play with so much fire when so much is at stake. I think we can all agree that there are things you should avoid when you are so early in your quit.
Nice job for staying strong but all others should not take this episode as something you should do. New quitters should stay away from bars, alcohol, and especially these 2 mixed with friends that dip. The success rate is extremely low for situations like this and AN was very lucky she was able to make it through.
Yes, someday we, you, will all have to face this. Just not so early in your quit.
I really didn't even think about it, to be honest. I know I need to sit down and realize what my triggers are and have a game plan. I was more worried about not seeing my friends for over a week, after surgery. It was stupid, I know...going to have to figure out a new game plan...
A solid plan should be your first step. Write it down and keep it with you at all times. Stop playing with fire so early in your quit, you will have plenty of time to drink and party when you are deeper into your quit.
Here is my plan. Write one that means something to you. I have never made it past step one. If I did I promise you I would not make it past step two...
GregÂ’s Quit Plan1. Text my family this message: I have decided I no longer want to continue quitting. It is just too hard and I am no longer able to fight it. All the support you have shown me was not enough. I love tobacco more than all of you, and I would rather spend time with it than with you.
2. Call - Jstreet, Helios, Banner, Murf, Bubblehed. Get permssion to cave.
3. Take out the contract to give up. Read it 5 times, sign it. As soon as possible scan it and post it in Feb 2010
