Cornfed - STOP with the cutting and pasting....Do it for roll call, but not when "quoting" someone else and responding to them...Simply type your reply in the empty dialog box and leave the part you are responding to (in the lower box) alone.....Try it...

Proverbs 18:2

"A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion."

A Quit Plan: Do you have one?

CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit.
After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco. SportDad 1/13/05

Warm southern wind, blow softly here;

Good-night, dear heart, good-night.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

I don't know what the success rate on this site is compared to other methods; all I can say is that I am 3 weeks from the hall of fame (100 days quit) and I never imagined I would be here when I started. Does the tough talk have to be part of it? I don't know. I do know if you stick it out, take what works, and leave the rest, you can be quit--chantix or no chantix.

Good job man -- I can't wait to be in your shoes . . . Day 4 here for me and still feeling pretty good. The cravings are changing -- now I don't immediately think dip but more like "something's wrong, can't put my finger on it . . ." Then I realize it's dip I'm craving. Then before too long I'm doing something else. It's funny where the cans are turning up -- pretty much everywhere. This morning it was my gym bag. I'm tossing them as I find them.
Great job cornfed. You know what day 4 means? It means you are now poison free brother.

Take a good look out your front door. Have a good look at the world without the poison blurring your vision. Breath in that oxygen that was being stolen from you each and every day. Your body is thanking you my friend. It has been longing for this day for far to long. If you look carefully you'll see a difference in everything my friend. We weren't meant to be bound chained and gagged. If you get a chance read my hof speech down below. Hopefully it will inspire you. Need anything give a shout.
Corfed as Srans pointed out today is the day that your body is free from nicotine. This will be a great day for you today. Celebrate this win, and stay focused on the lifetime of freedom. Just remember that you can only get that lifetime one day at a time, they add up quickly, be sure to keep all these little wins as fuel to keep you on track to the great goal.

If this was easy none of us would need KTC.
Way to go Cornfed, you took some licks but have come around that's awesome. Never mistake the tough love here for anything other than it is, a bunch of guys who have been in your shoes and can help show you the way forward. We don't pull punches and we don't sugar coat shit, but there is a lot of quit in your corner already.

Don't sweat the Chantix, many guys here have struggled with anxiety and depression. The important thing is your now nicotine free and soon things will get better, I can't tell you how great your freedom is and will be, you'll just have to keep at it.... one day at a time with the rest of us crazy assholes.

I'll quit with you today, shoot me a PM if you need anything.

HEY - Thanks for the support Jlud007. Had more time today. Met some cool guys on here. I'm starting to tell nondipper friends I quit -- help keep me accountable. As a science guy I like knowing that the nic will soon be outta my blood. I know the brain game is probably even harder.

You don't need a prescription to quit. I dipped for like 26 years. I quit cold turkey. It's all in your head bro. You have to simply tell yourself that you are done! Then quit. 1 hour at a time. 5 hours at a time. 1 day a time. You can quit and you don't need a drug to help you quit. You just need to hate dip. IT IS KILLING YOU !!!

Welcome to the Titans. Just take it one day at a time with all of us. As far as all of the comments... go through the website and read as much as you can. You will see each one of these guys only wants you to quit. Nothing else matters including your feelings.

Thanks for the people who have replied with encouragement. What I don't get about the backlash from my post is that all I did was acknowledge that someone can love the psyochological aspects of dipping -- the action, carrying the can, the taste, the ritual; the venemous responses were that it's only my body loves the nicotene. That's totally bogus. Otherwise after the 5-7 days of physical withdrawal, we'd be all done guys.
Cornfed,
If using Chantix, please be sure to keep in touch with you doc and let him/her know how you are doing on it. Many have quit using it. Just realize that one day soon, you will need to quit it as well....Stay nic free and post here and in your group.....Tough love is tough some times ( 'winker' )....Strap tight for a fun ride.
I've been where you are my friend. I know exactly what your saying. Glad your staying here. We've all been there my friend. Open your mind. Your in for a ride. We're here to help.

I don't care if you are using Chantrix, or snapping mouse traps on your cock every time you have a crave, nic free is nic free, so gratz on the quit so far.

I'm too lazy to dig up my intro, but I came in here using a patch, so imagine the comments there when I posted a Day 2 on Roll. Seems funny to me now I am still here 95 days nic free and the assholes are now my friends, and I credit them with saving my life. There's gonna be tough love and blunt comments, but the freedom is worth the hurt feelings.

Thanks man. I was dipping nearly a can a day. I tried cold turkey lots of times (congrats to all those who have succeeded that way). This time I'm using Chantix. I know the risks. It's worth it to me. Doc offered me 2mg twice a day. I am taking 1mg twice a day. I'm aware that I gotta quit that at some point, too. However, in the 7 days of tapering and now 3 days of being quit (looking forward to hearing guys say I'm not quit :) ) I have already enjoyed decreased pulse, increased sleep time, and less heartburn. So I think I'm on the right path for me for now. Thanks.
It don't mean shit if you don't stay quit.

Write that down.

I don't care how you got here...you're here. Ain't no drug gonna keep you quit forever. You've got to man up and realize you decide your quit. I've seen people quit with chantix...I've seen people STOP with chantix. They rely on the drug, and think that's the only thing holding them to their quit. After a little time, they get bored.

Now, you can be badass and own your quit...or not. But the choice is yours. Post roll, and fucking lead.

I would suggest some herbal snuff (non tobacco). It's great for the empty lip feeling if you don't feel strong.
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I get to go down this path one time, I want to do it right. I recognize that my word, my integrety to you is on the line and is only as good as my actions. Caving is not an option in this plan-Eafman 7/11

I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11
