I don't know what the success rate on this site is compared to other methods; all I can say is that I am 3 weeks from the hall of fame (100 days quit) and I never imagined I would be here when I started. Does the tough talk have to be part of it? I don't know. I do know if you stick it out, take what works, and leave the rest, you can be quit--chantix or no chantix.
Good job man -- I can't wait to be in your shoes . . . Day 4 here for me and still feeling pretty good. The cravings are changing -- now I don't immediately think dip but more like "something's wrong, can't put my finger on it . . ." Then I realize it's dip I'm craving. Then before too long I'm doing something else. It's funny where the cans are turning up -- pretty much everywhere. This morning it was my gym bag. I'm tossing them as I find them.
Great job cornfed. You know what day 4 means? It means you are now poison free brother.
Take a good look out your front door. Have a good look at the world without the poison blurring your vision. Breath in that oxygen that was being stolen from you each and every day. Your body is thanking you my friend. It has been longing for this day for far to long. If you look carefully you'll see a difference in everything my friend. We weren't meant to be bound chained and gagged. If you get a chance read my hof speech down below. Hopefully it will inspire you. Need anything give a shout.
Corfed as Srans pointed out today is the day that your body is free from nicotine. This will be a great day for you today. Celebrate this win, and stay focused on the lifetime of freedom. Just remember that you can only get that lifetime one day at a time, they add up quickly, be sure to keep all these little wins as fuel to keep you on track to the great goal.
If this was easy none of us would need KTC.
Way to go Cornfed, you took some licks but have come around that's awesome. Never mistake the tough love here for anything other than it is, a bunch of guys who have been in your shoes and can help show you the way forward. We don't pull punches and we don't sugar coat shit, but there is a lot of quit in your corner already.
Don't sweat the Chantix, many guys here have struggled with anxiety and depression. The important thing is your now nicotine free and soon things will get better, I can't tell you how great your freedom is and will be, you'll just have to keep at it.... one day at a time with the rest of us crazy assholes.
I'll quit with you today, shoot me a PM if you need anything.
HEY - Thanks for the support Jlud007. Had more time today. Met some cool guys on here. I'm starting to tell nondipper friends I quit -- help keep me accountable. As a science guy I like knowing that the nic will soon be outta my blood. I know the brain game is probably even harder.
