Oh I crave for day 8. As I sit here behind my desk I can't even imagine making it through my first day today. My Lord I never thought it it would be so hard. Wish me luck.
There is no 'luck' here. There is no 'try'. We don't rely on 'hope'.

We fuckin quit. You either CHOOSE to Quit, or you do NOT choose to Quit.

And yes, Quit is a fucking noun around here. It is a living, breathing thing that we protect every day, ALL Day.

Get in to September 2012. Post your word. It's like looking me in the eye and shaking my hand and promising not to use nicotine in ANY form...for today.

We'll worry 'bout tomorrow, tomorrow.

The question is, are you IN or OUT?
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!

It's day 8 for me, about to be day 9 in 1.5 hours.... My mouth fucking hurts... Why? There are no sores or anything and the pain feels like its in the bones like right where my teeth should be sitting in them... Cause for concern or cause for relief? Idk... but I also know day 8 was a rough one. Definitely got hit hard with the cravings, and my mind always goes to this scary place of like "if I take one dip now ill be alright, it's only one hiccup" or "hey if I take a dip I don't have to tell anyone and can keep going" ... Ultimately I talk myself out of it because I can't lie to the guys in my quit group. They trust me, and I trust them. If either of us betray that the whole relationship will fall apart... plus we have had too many cavers since I joined 8 days ago... AH I hate this shit... sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I just figured it was pretty general
Eor my mouth hurt so bad for about 4 weeks I was sure that I had quit too late! My tongue hurt to touch anything. Went to the dentist 2 times and Dr. once both kept telling me that I was fine. I'd have to go back and see when it started but I'd say from day 20 to 50 my tongue was sore and mouth ached. What we have done to our bodies over the years we are lucky if we only have these minor irritations to go through.[/QUOTE]

Eor, I gave you my number in the chat room last week. USE IT!!!!
We are all in this together, when you start craving text us it works.
thanks woosel

That's how I got through it, make that promise by posting roll every day. Remember, take it one day at a time. I have had some of the same thoughts and still do but I am able to fight them off better. I've been quit for 33 days and if I can stay quit for 33, I can go for 34 and so on. I don't want to start over and I definitely don't want to let the other guys down in my group so stay strong and stay quit!!
I joined KTC and QUIT nic on 5/10/12.

Got a friend says hes quitting smoking, I told him to go to whackthepack. My question is should I sign up there as well to help support him or just do it here. I would rather be here because of my own addictions but have quit both at the same time. I do want to support every one I can, what do I do????
Do it. I think WTP has less traffic than here so the more the merrier. We're all nicotine addicts in the end, delivery method doesn't really matter.

I'm on day 43, has anyone experienced a change in stool color to a almost yellow?

Retrieved from:
http://altmedicine.about.com/od/getting ... stools.htm

Yellow Stool

"Yellow stool can indicate that food is passing through the digestive tract relatively quickly. Yellow stool can be found in people with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). Symptoms of GERD include heartburn, chest pain, sore throat, chronic cough, and wheezing. Symptoms are usually worse when lying down or bending. Foods that can worsen GERD symptoms include peppermint, fatty foods, alcohol, coffee, and chocolate.

Yellow stool can also result from insuffient bile output. Bile salts from the liver gives stool its brownish color. When bile output is diminished, it often first appears as yellow stool. If there is a greater reduction in bile output, stool lose almost all of its color, becoming pale or grey.

If the onset is sudden, yellow stool can also be a sign of a bacterial infection in the intestines."

Pretty much from the other sites I have read it is either something benign and not really cause for concern, or a deadly infection that will probably cause the doctor to quarantine you as they run screaming to call the Center for Disease Control.... I think you should be ok.
Esophageal reflux is very common to new quits. We are usually ingesting more volume of food, drinking more coffee, and in the words of rolln - eating things that are hot as fuck.

Other causes are quite serious - things that cause jaundice. Are the whites of your eyes yellow? Are your gums turning yellow? If this is the case, you should visit your Dr. today.

Take all this for what it is worth. We know a lot about shit, but we are not the internal medicine dept of johns hopkins. I would advise you to talk with your Dr.

If you are sure it isn't due to something you ate then it is likely caused by a number of things, none of which are good (liver, pancreas, or intestinal diseases) - go see a doctor asap

cant say that I have
Being this is the first day here I won't giggle cause you done thrown out the use of "stool."

I'm nothing close to a medical professional so take this for what it is, just an opinion.

Lot's of crazy things happen to your body in the beginning. What type of oral subsitutes are you using?? Gum, fireballs, jolly ranchers, jerky, fake dip, sunflower seeds??? Could be something along them lines that you are overloading on that's caused the change.

I had excessive burping for quite some time... finally figured out that there is some ingredient in sugar free gum that can cause gas...that combined with taking in more air while chewing said gum. Being I was chewing about 3 packs a day I was one gassed up SOB.

Like I said, crazy shit happens in the beginning. However, you know you better than anybody. If it's something you are concerned about go see a doc.
