Day 1: I call this day one because I quit 2 days ago, but gave in and had a rub. I just now bought a can of "Smokey Mountain: Cherry."

There is no nicotine in Smokey Mountain right?
There is no nicotine in SM. Use all you need to keep the nic-filled shit out of your face.

If you declare your freedom today, then yes, today is your day one.

So you are not tempted to rub one out again, clean house. Get rid of all the real dip and spitters, even the hidden ones. Then, click on the Welcome Center link and read those brief items to learn about who we are and what we do.

After that the next step is "Posting Roll". That is the backbone of what we do. You'll read about in the Welcome Center.

What are you waiting for?

Fake Chew

So I've been using fake chew now for the 5 days I've been quit and it's been working really well for me. I get a crave and just pop one of those bad boys in and I'm pretty much good to go. I honestly think that aside from KTC the fake chew has been the key ingredient to my quit so far.

My question is, does there come a time when the fake dip becomes a continuation of the original crutch rather than a tool to fight the cravings?  What is the time frame for this?  My current plan is to transition from the fake chew to those minty white lifesavers, or something that won't stain my teeth so I can get the whitened.

Just wondering what some others have experienced with this.
I've yet to meet a fake chew addict. Just joking. No, seriously. I used Smokey Mountain in the past before I quit and I've been using it during my quit. Love it. Don't know how I would have made it without it. But that's me. I'm almost in the Hall and I now don't use it nearly like I did when I began. Don't sweat it at all. It's not nicotine and the use of it will naturally taper off. Although I did read a story about a guy that at over a year of quit one day a random killer crave popped up out of nowhere. He happened to have a can of SM in the pickup. He grabbed it and killed the crave. So I plan on never being without it for quite a while. Just my 2 cents.
I bought one can of it, threw most of it out. It was too much like chew, just didn't give me the feeling I was looking for, made me want to cave.
Day 3. The Smokey Mountain is working good for me at the moment. I was curious myself if anyone else got "addicted" to the fake stuff..
I always have a can (SM) with me for the bitch moments. I'm day 69 and it has been a life saver for me. Addicted.... to fake.... no it just a safe way to play. Like a condom back I the day.. I've had to relearn how to do everything without the Cope at the wheel with me... SM has been a cool second and easier to deal with.

Just my. 02
My experience was; I used fake continually for 80-90 days then at about 120 days I lost total interest in it. I kept a can around and cracked it a couple times the 1st year. I still have a couple and but I haven't opened then in nearly a year. Last month I did take a can with me on a long drive but didn't need it.

So last night my wife managed to clog the kitchen pipes by shoving all the potato skins down the drain...had to rinse off all the T-day dishes in a bucket of water, then leave them overnight. Snaked the shit out of the pipes this morning to no avail, ended up opening up the ceiling and the wall in the basement, cutting the pipes in 2 places, finally located the clog, stuck the shop vac hose in the pipes to make sure i got it all, trip to the hardware store for some couplings to put the pipes back together...all while watching a 3yr old, 18 month old and 1yr old, plus the dog...then cleaned both the mess from the repair and the mess from dinner last night (kitchen is cleaner now than a normal day)....so in my head i'm thinking maybe she's so grateful I've earned a nice little thank you when she gets home from work....alas, instead I get raked for not picking the kids toys up in the basement. AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!

Hang tough Keith.

That feeling you're having is your body throwing a temper tantrum. Don't give in.

This too shall pass. I promise. It's going to take some time, but I swear to you, one day, you will look back on this day and be so relieved you fought it out and won.

Hello everyone! I just found my way to your website. I'm on Day 0 of quitting. I've quit several times before, but it never took. Long drives or a bout of military reserve duty always helped me find my way back to the can. So Today I'm making my first big push in a long time. And this time I'm going to do it! Here's my plan:

1. I know this is a cheap gimmick - but for me this works - Start on a Holiday weekend. (my family is going to LOVE me tomorrow..lol) I've often found that when I'm around my family all day on the weekend i can easily go without Dip. So I'm going to "game it" for a 4 day weekend.

2. I never tried Fake Dip before, so I just ordered some SM. (rush delivery..lol) Usually I just did the patch or the gum. After multiple attempts at quitting, I know they wont work for me. If I don't go "cold turkey" on nicotene its not going to work.

3. check in on this website. None of my friends are the right people to talk about quitting. (most would just give me a dip..lol)

I'll be talking/ ranting/ yelling at everyone soon, so let me apologize in advance. I should be civil again in a week or 2.
Hi. First, you never Quit before. I expect you to Quit now.

Next, we donÂ’t use tricks or gimmicks here. We are stone cold and laser focused. The sooner you dump your flippant attitude and accept that this is life or death, the better your chance of success.

Cold turkey is the only method here, so grab your sack and letÂ’s get to it.

Finally, we don’t ‘check in’ here. We post roll. Every. Damn. Day. There are no excuses, and we don’t take holidays or weekends off.

If youÂ’re in, youÂ’re balls deep. We donÂ’t half step and we donÂ’t accept excuses.

Now, I suggest you find your group, post Roll, and keep the cat turd out of your mouth. If you need a number to check in with someone, PM me, and IÂ’ll reach out.

Remember, your family does NOT understand what youÂ’re going through. We do. DonÂ’t go off on them, itÂ’s not their fault you were an idiot and poisoned yourself for how ever many years you did, but thatÂ’s over. Today you Quit.
Randy I see you joined almost 3 years ago wouldn't it have been great to have grown that set of nuts back then? Well the past is the past if your down there in the bottom of the barrel really serious about quitting you can do this. It's gonna be damn hard and will take all you have and a lot of outside help from other addicts that have and are going through the same thing. Posting roll isn't optional, get it done and read all you can if your serious!

First things first....congratulation mtn. PUSHING through the suck is something only few can accomplish. Continue to post roll daily and connect with KTC.

Fake is fake. I know of only 1 long-time quitter who still uses it regularly. So, maybe it is a crutch to him. But who gives a fuck? Right? I mean, You are actively quitting one of the most addictive poisons known to man. If you need to use fake, then use it. Especially, this early into your quit.

Personally, I used EVERYTHING:
Every type of Fake (SMJ, hooch, jakes, oregon, the alfalfa stuff, the sea coral stuff, etc)
Lifesavers
Jolly Ranchers
Tea
Coffee
Ginger
Seeds
Gently Used Panties (the salty and tangy flavors were the best, I did not enjoy the onion gravy flavor)
Beef Jerky
Toothpicks
Starbucks stirrers
Probably some others that I can't think of right now.

So to answer your question - use whatever it takes to not stuff your piehole full of cancer. There will be a time in future when you will grow tired of the Fake. You'll just not need it anymore.

Once again, the most important thing right now is TO NOT PUT A HOG OF CANCER IN YOUR LIP today.

Vadge
Mt,

I am currently 82 days in. I relied heavily on the fake stuff for the first 30 or so days of my quit. At around the 30 day mark, I didn't feel the need to continue using it as much, and now it's only used at desperate times, or when I'm out of seeds. Keep up the good fight. Anything that you can stick in there to keep the dip out is a victory in my book. Except panties, no...especially panties.

3. check in on this website. None of my friends are the right people to talk about quitting. (most would just give me a dip..lol)

I'll be talking/ ranting/ yelling at everyone soon, so let me apologize in advance. I should be civil again in a week or 2.
