I don't mean to be insensitive but I've seen many potential quitters make a very similar comment, "I'm a college student and deal with a lot of stress." It's been over 3 decades since my college days and I have had some life experiences that many of you haven't had yet. I just want to say to potential young quitters or lurking dippers that are considering quitting, now is the best time to quit. I remember having similar thoughts, that I have to much stress to quit now, things like: stress of providing for a family, being involved in a family business with 8 separate families with different goals, having a daughter that was in a abusive relationship 2000 miles away and finally last March I was in a situation suffering sever depression even suicidal not a good time to quit, just too much stress to deal with everything without dip! Well there is never an easy time to quit but the best time to quit is always NOW!

I've said to many quitters that I wish I had quit when I was your age. Well I didn't and so that message is for them not me. I quit when I did and have been devoted to my quit everyday and will continue to make it a priority in my daily routine. There is never an easy time to quit. There is never a easier time to quit!
I have 8 years of so called higher education. The stress in school is nothing like having a career and family. It would have been much easier to quit in school. Like WT says, today is the day to quit. Don't put it off another day. Putting it off another day will lead to a year, five years, a decade, etc.
you can only make a decision to quit today and then stick to it.

It ain't easy, but it can be done. And we're here to help.

Hello All! My name is Jake Larson from Waterloo, Iowa and I am currently 48 hours nicotine free. I was referred to the site by a friend of mine that quit last year. I was a tin a day dipper of Copenhagen Long Cut for the last 2 years. I made the decision on Saturday night that was enough was enough and I was done.

FUCK.

Thoughts and prayers...
Sad,really sad.
(I took this from someone on facebook who took it from Mr. Rogers. nice to keep in mind)

As we pray for the people of Boston, this quote from Mister Rogers comes to mind:

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.”

(after posting this it hit me that this also is what goes on here each day - the disaster or evil is tobacco and the helpers are the ones here who do so much for all who have found the site since they have arrived. Not to take away from the disaster in Boston but to say thanks Chewie and all the rest of the KTC community who spend time here helping the rest of us.)

Nope what is roll?
Mr. X, click on the ghey pink "salmon" colored welcome on the upper left side of the page. It explains roll call. Roll call is your promise not to use nicotine in any form for the day. Your quit group is July 2013. We call keeping your promise "integrity". If you have some you can quit with us. And yes, a sore throat is normal. So is being tired. So is being constipated. And angry. I even know a quitter on here who got cancer a month after quitting. It is all "normal". If you want to be free from nicotine almost like a "normal" person then stick around.
Word posted my roll for the day!
Most excellent Sir.

Keep your word.

Doc just thought it was allergies and sent me on my way. Said to come back if ayptoms persist for 7 days. I think the doc was off a bit. Anyone else experience a real sore tjroat and fatigue. I chewed cope snuff for 14 years. I have dealt with ny quit well tell freaking myaelf out as of recently. Thoughts shared syptoms? I did see this under what to expext but my glands are swollen huge, feeling real tired really eaely then normal.
Why are you here?

Do you want us to tell you everything is going to be okay?

Can't do that.

Do you want to quit, and in the process reduce your risk and improve your quality of life ten fold?

That, we can do.

Balls in your court.

You chose to quit, there is no better support than on this site with these fine members.
I quit two weeks ago! Was just hoping to relate to someone......
Have you posted roll?

Do you know what that means?
