Hi all. It's been 5 days since my last chew, and things are going well... for the most part.
My question is this, when some of you quit, did you experience a numbness in your lip and/or mouth? I can't decide if it's numbness I feel for if it's swollen. I'm expecting some physical changes now that I'm not pumping that area of my mouth with a stimulant every day, but I'd like to hear what some other guys experienced when they gave it up.
Thanks, Charlie
Damn...seems like LOOT's whole body was numb for a couple weeks. It's totally normal bro. Others have reported similar things.

Congrats on making it thru your first weekend nic free...and welcome to the site.

I'm going to label this one as a minor Victory in defeat:

I will say this, I'm new to this group and just joined a few days ago, but its no excuse for my slip up. I'm sorry, you guys have been nothing but supportive since I joined and I let you down.
I got drunk at the bar with the buddies last night and cracked for about ten minutes until the guilt in my mind finally won over. I'm still going to label this as a small victory because for the first time in my days as a chewer I was able to convince myself that i didnt need nicotine with my beer to have a good time. The rest of the night i was able to have fun and didn't think twice about my decision to spit it out.

So here's to another day. My next test will be tonight during the super bowl and im gonna give it my all. The friends are coming over and they all think im bat shit crazy for trying to quit. I even think two of them have a side bet going on about which day they think ill crack.

Wish me luck,
AaronJ
You caved. That's called a cave, not a victory. Instead of staying quit, you chose to cave. Why did you choose to cave?

Are you posting roll call?
Agree. You cant claim any kind of victory after caving. What the fucks wrong with you? You were drunk when it happened? Shocking.

Start all over.

Post an intro. Read the welcome center. Start posting role. Get numbers of guys in your quit group. Stop drinking. Stop hanging with dudes who are gonna put money on whether you will cave or not. This is not some kind of joke. This is literally life or death.

Most importantly...KEEP THAT SHIT OUT OF YOUR MOUTH.
I got drunk last night and didn't chew. This is almost day 7 for me so it was pretty weird not doing it. I didn't though and my friends that I drink with support me quitting which helps.
Be careful with alcohol in the early part if your quit. Seen it kill many a quit, even guys past the hof.

Post an intro Schellster...let us get to know you. Let us help you.
Thanks for the advice and reminding me on the intro! I just posted it. Not much but it's something.
Your Buddies, Are Assholes. Let me quess ones a dentist and the other runs the local funeral home. I also have friends that still chew, each one of them would punch me in the face if I chewed around them. Thats a buddy! Support, Trust, Respect. Those are the definitions I use for buddies. Sorry you caved, did you pussy up and cave again during the bowl game? We don't try, we promise, we struggle and then we do it again. One day at a time. Hopefully you learned the lesson that everyone talks about every friday. We are addicts, booze is bad for addicts, pussy's cave and use excuses. Get back in here start posting roll and prove to all of us that your not a pussy. You get as much of a victory as the niners did last night.
Worst fuckin post LOOTs seen in months.

Your mind is so fucking twisted its ridiculous...too fuct to unfuck it seems.

When you get serious...and want to put the booze down for a while and concentrate on your recovery...let us know. Until then, quit wasting peoples time on this site.
A cave by another name is still a cave!
 Now that is some serious addict babble going on there. No, caving is defeat. Period. Quitting is winning. Period. I'm glad you feel you have more insight about your quit Aaron, but I think you now get we don't try to put lipstick on the pig here....
No activity in 3 days.

LOOT is waiting waiting with great anticipation to hear what victory you claim with your latest cave.

Just wanted to share a victory with the group,

I spent the better part of my day yesterday at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, IN for College Game Day and then later for the IU Michigan basketball game.  Throughout the day, we went down on Kirkwood to the "Deli" for breakfast, Kilroy's, the Upstairs, Upland for dinner and finally back to Assembly Hall for the game.  After the game, I think we shut down Nic's.

The best part of the whole day was that I never had to look for a place to spit and secondly.......Ill be honest........I don't think I ever thought about a dip.  Crazy I know......but it was one of the best days ever.

That's a big W right there.
HUGE!

And DAMN do I miss Bloomington...
Maybe I should host a "Quitter Gathering" here in Bloomington. What do you think Chewie........would you come hang out?

Did Larry Allen really have a huge cat turd in as he was being honored before the Super Bowl? Classy.
Why yes. Yes he did.

Doosh.
