You guys are some tough SOBs. I couldn't take that cold anymore.

I'm with Jester - hitting the upper 40's here in Colorado today and upper 50's by the weekend. May have to break out the dirt bike or the golf clubs....

:):)

Mr. Brown - you are just spoiled :)

High in 60's here in the tropics - Houston. But a fog rolling in if you know what I mean - Day 2.
We view ourselves on the eve of battle. We are nerved for the contest, and must conquer or perish. It is vain to look for present aid: none is at hand. We must now act or abandon all hope! Rally to the standard, and be no longer the scoff of mercenary tongues! Be men, be free men, that your children may bless their father's name - Sam Houston.

Monday morning and STILL on top of the world !!!

Quitwise anyhow. :P

Morning Quitters !!

Morning Brothers and sisters of the quit!  I kicked the bitches ass yesterday even though she nagged me from the time I got up till the time I went to bed (6.am till 12:30 a.m.) and toay I am day 14 of the quit!.  it was f*cking great - I can say that now today!!  Without this board and support, to help hold me accountable.. i don't know if I could have done that.

Last night I called my daughter (who lives way over on the left coast now) and told her about my quit.  You shoulda heard the excitement in her voice!  Damn near brought tears to my eyes.. I think that was the first time I had ever heard her say --and repeat -- Dad , I am so proud of you!  She has never known me without a fattie. with her being in the medical field in the Air force Nat'l guard - she said she was going to check this site out and maybe be able to help turn other soldiers and airment to it if the time comes.  one just never knows how this site is going to reach folks!

Called my folks yesterday afternoon and asked them if they read my card about my quit (at the time I was day 8.)  Mom said yes - and I said I was surprised that they didn't call me -- as they have ben nagging on me for 33 years to quit (literally from day 364 - I didn't sneak much except the first year!)  she said - well I guess I forgot because I was telling your sister and your brother  and my friends about your quit!  then both Mom and Dad went on to relate triggers they had when they smoked (they both quit in the late 60s early 70s).  Dad was the one who praised the most.  Guess we always like praise from our folks!

so my brothers and sisters..despite yesterday being a nagging nic bitch day -- it was probably one of the best days of my life ..being able to share with my family about my quit.  It makes me just that much more accountable for my future actions.

Thank you all for being here for us!
