First time here, hope I'm doing this right. I think I started dipping Skoal when I was around 14. A bunch of my buddies tried it for the first time. Three of them threw up and never did it again. Three of us didn't throw up, and 36 years later I finally decided it was time to quit, so I did. I think I quit dipping around 12/27/2014, it might have been a day before or a day after. Anyway, I did the patch for two weeks, and it's been a little while since I've had any nicotine at all. I thought I was over it, then today was a rough day out of no where. I didn't dip, but found it interesting that after several "easy" days, today was full of cravings for some reason. Glad I found this site, I think it will help especially on days like today.

I'm finding that using tooth whitening trays helps with he oral fixation, and also helps clean up some self inflicted damage to the choppers ad well.

Good luck everyone.

Day four is huge, redneck! Keep at it, you can do this.

My wife could smell it, too, and I was Ninja as shit. Glad I don't do that anymore.

Quit with you, bro.

just want to say thank you to all the folks posting stuff. good and bad. i'm three days nic free. day two reading the posts was pretty cool when i thought i was losing my mind. is this the right forum for just regular chit chat (vs the web site comments?)

Roy
Great work with three days on your own! Now that you are a member you can post anywhere, there is also the wildcard section.
But most importantly, we post roll call each day, our daily promise to not use nicotine for 1 day. Then repeat...
Get over to May 2015 and post up!

Hi all,

Stumbled across this site. I am glad I did. I have quit dipping last week on the 20th. I cheek was hurting me and I decided that enough was enough. I have dipped for 13 years. I am 28 years old now and i figured it was time to be finished with it. I went to walmart and bought some lozenges and I am going strong. Also tried the Smokey Mountain stuff as well. I figured I would say hello! My name is Jack Dingus and I am a Teacher/Football Coach in Oklahoma.
Welcome Jack. I live in Maine, and coach gymnastics for a living.

You have not quit anything yet, Jack. If you are sucking on lozenges, then you are still sucking on the nic whore's teat. It is no accident that you are here. You are here to Quit. Then you must Quit. Dump every last lonzenge in the shitter and flush. Hit the Smokey Mountain hard if you like, but also get some regular (not nicotine) gum, seeds, tic tacs, what ever the Hell you need, just make sure it is 100% nicotine free.

You see Jack, this site, and all of its members are 100% nicotine free. We don't just quit dipping, and it is not a habit. This is an addiction to nicotine we are fighting every day. We do that first by posting roll. That is giving my word to my brothers that I will NOT use nicotine in ANY form for today. Just today.

Then I show up tomorrow and do it again.

You need to read a shit ton more here, and let us know when you're on board.

You will never regret Quitting. Not ever.

I love it when NOLAQ gets on a roll.

You've got one of the best telling you how it's done... next move is yours.

Hope to see you on roll.

I'll give this place a go ?

You came to the right place, buddy. This site is primarily oriented towards smokeless users, but at the end of the day, that's just another delivery system. Same goes for cigarettes. It all boils down to nicotine at the end of the day, and this is very firmly and very solidly a no-nicotine site.

You were very wise to cut out nicotine replacement "therapies" from the outset. That stuff is nothing more than the pharma companies trying to get a piece of your addiction.

Go ahead and post roll in the May 2015 quit group and let's get started.
