Day 2, and I already understand just how crucial Roll Call is. I've just had lunch on the first day of work since I quit, and the fawking craving right now is intense. But you all know that already. Thankfully, I've already given my word to all y'all that I will not give in and use nicotene today, and I will not break that promise. As a matter of fact, as I write this, it is subsiding a bit.

So the 'r' stays in place. Thanks to all of you for being here.

Just started my quit a day ago. Anyone know of some inexpensive alternatives other than seeds, or some sort of medication?
Hey saw you posted up in april. Smokey Mountian is a good choice for an alternative IMO. They have a lot of flavors as well. I used Big Red gum for my first couple days and that worked pretty well. Welcome to the group.

Ok dudes, I'm a newbite. Been to the site many many times but never posted, but I'm sitting here willing and ready. I'm done with this shit. I still have chew in my veins, just not in my lip. Where do I go to get this party started?
Welcome aboard man.

First of all, check out all you need to know about our program here: Welcome center

It will tell you the who, what, where, when, and why's of the site. But, basically, our program is to promise to ourselves and others not to use nicotine today. We do that on roll call. You are banded together with a ton of guys and gals that are going through the same stuff that you are. Your group is the April 2015 quitting class. This represents when you will be 100 days quit. At that point, you are not cured and you never will be: You are an addict. You were an addict. You'll always be an addict.

You see, quitting is the opposite of using. It means that you actively pursue not using the stuff. We do that through roll and we lean on each other when we need to. There's a library of information here, and I look forward to continuing this quit with you man.

Come on in!
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I get to go down this path one time, I want to do it right. I recognize that my word, my integrety to you is on the line and is only as good as my actions. Caving is not an option in this plan-Eafman 7/11

I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11

To overcome your addiction you must comprehend what it means to fail-Razd 3/12

Theres a lot of people that come here, especially vets, that WANT to be reminded that they are addicts.-Tarpon 6/12

Just as a building starts with architectural drawings. Your daily quit begins with a promise.-Scowick 2/13

Here and now, focused on today, minute by minute, whatever it takes, I promise to all my bros and myself not to become a negative stat and stay quit!-krok 1/15

I want everyone to be quit. Even the assholes.-Probe1957 1/18

Does the need to always have something in your mouth/oral fixation go away eventually?

Day 11 and chugging along.

Today cravings were really bad. I ate a ton of junk, hopefully I didnt gain ten pounds in one day.... lol

Least the good news is for the next couple weeks I am in a country where its not sold.
Definitely.

I chewed the fake stuff for a good 200 days or so into my quit. Then one day, I just stopped reaching for it. At this point, I can't tell you the last time I felt I "needed" something, but it's been years.

Keep fighting - you're on the right track. Conrats on 11 days of freedom!

chewie
Yes. It does.

How many days did you use nicotine before quitting? 11 days is just a piddly amount to that (but is bad ass awesome quit wise though man). You are healing.

Freedom earned tastes so much better than freedom given. No one can give you it. You have to earn it. Give it some time.

Let me know if you need anything.

Don't know if this is the right place to post, if not please move.

Woke up this morning at 3:30am after 3rd straight night of fitful sleeping to a house full of motivational sayings and scripture verses all throughout the house at places I go to in the morning. My wife must have taken couple of hours to write, draw, and color all the taped pages. Pretty awesome of her!! More importantly much needed.

I'm starting day 4 and the struggle is getting worse. Day 1 was easiest and gave me a false sense of how the battle would be fought. I am determined to beat this addiction. Living in the Deep South a majority of my co workers are users and it makes it tough when you are around tobacco dippers and chewers all day.

A big shout out goes to Natro... Who has kept up with me by phone text during the day and night by offering encouragement and being a sounding board for me. I hope I'm not too much a burden on you for this, because I have no one else, but I really appreciate what you've done.

Off to work I go... I have the power within me to beat Nicotine!!!!
Now you can't let her down and you can't let yourself down. All of my coworkers still chew too but I don't give a fuck, im tougher than them. Man up and fight through it.
I'm quit with you.

Day 60
This is some goo shit!

It's not that this isn't the place for this kind of post, but I would recommend starting your own Intro page here.

You can add this kind of thing, and keep track. It can be very helpful to go back and look at it, and update as you move along on your journey.

Either way, two big wins! Stay Strong. Stay Quit!
yep... what NOLAQ said - an intro is a great place for this.

also (and this isn't just for you) if you're a "blogger" there's always www.quit4today.com - it's open to anyone who's quit and is a blog written FOR quitters BY quitters.

If you'd like to be set up as an author you can request it here. forum/55578/

Day 7 and I damn near caved today but because of this site did not. Stopped to get a can of Grizzly fine cut natural and walked out with a can of Smokey Mountain Premium Herbal Snuff. 7 days quit is too long to go back to putting rat shit in my mouth. Thanks KTC!!!!
Whatever it takes to stay quit Bwade take it day by day. I'll pm you my number in case you find your self driving to get a tin again.
