Welcome Jared.

KTC is a resource. Lots of good stuff. Lots of wisdom.

Now, gonna tell you about the secret KTC formula. The recipe... Only 3 ingredients, too... so anyone can do it. The KTC recipe boiled down to its ' bare essence is this:

1. Post Roll
2. Honor Your Promise
3. Repeat.

Now at first, you're gonna have a little trouble... that's cause the poisonous ingredients that you have been chowing down on don't mix with those ingredients. It's gonna react kinda like baking soda and vinegar at first... but just like that volcano you made for your second grade science teacher that you had a crush on...she's eighty now, and takes her teeth out every night.... anyway.. just like that volcano fizzled out, and quick, so will the intensity of the withdrawal from the cancer dirt. The physical withdrawal is pretty much done in 3 days. Nicotine is gone out of your system. Within a few days after that, the days get drastically better.

Other than the 3 things above, you need to bring 2 other things: 1. The determination to quit. and 2. Integrity. Roll Call- that is where you put your integrity on the line. It is a promise, your solemn oath that you will not use nicotine today. By the end of the day you are either a liar... or a man of your word. The next day- you post another promise... if you don't- those folks that you posted roll with today? The're gonna come looking for you... gonna light your ass up. They might not be all that gentle about it either. We got no problem schoolin laggards. none.

You ready for this? If so- post roll- honor your promise- repeat. Exchange phone numbers with as many quit brothers as you can... makes it easier to light your ass up if you go MIA. You aren't gonna go MIA, are you? Good.

now drop and give me 20 30.

See you on roll, glad you are here.
I really appreciate this. Great advice, great support. Thank you.

Jared

I've been around here a long time and have seen many young, baseball players come through these gates. Almost none of them make it. Why? Because you are young and stupid. You think you are bulletproof. I got my start on tobacco playing college baseball.....17 years later, I found this place.

Don't be me. Quit being a moron. Fuck your tobacco spitting baseball playing buddies. Don't let this take hold of your life. Get this done now.

hey fellas! just got through my first day of no dip. it was hard but i'm excited to make it through many more!
Great job brother. One day a time is the way to do it. You are in the right place here at KTC. Simply make your promise by posting roll in your quit group every morning, then keep your promise. Stay tough over the next couple of days, it gets better each and every day. There will be some rough days and hours ahead though, so be prepared and use KTC to get you through. Get you some contacts and post roll every day. Make yourself accountable to the people here. This website is keeping me quit. Congrats on the best decision of your life. I'm quitting NICOTINE with you today.
Good job Jared. Post roll Jared.

Read this and do: index.php?showforum=13
if you can do one day I bet you can do two
Great choice to quit! PM me if you have any questions or need a #. Chug-a-lug the kool-aide, the KTC way works.
i have no idea how to use this damn website so i hope i am responding correctly, but all i have to say is wow. i am overwhelmed by the level of support i am getting. you guys are great, thank you so much for helping me as i attempt one of the toughest things i've ever done. thank y'all so much.
All that support and he's back to day one?
Exactly.

WTF?
And I combined your intros.

Maybe you want to read through again?
You also might want to spill some beans and let us know why in the hell you gave up a "couple of months" of quit, and what you are going to do differently this time.

Oh yeah and just exactly why we should believe it.

Razd sits back in his rocking chair and pours a nice glass of iced tea and waits..........
You've got some explaining to do it appears......

What happened?

Why?

What are you going to do different this time?

These answers are for you, your former group and your new group.

Ask yourself if you really want this, because you'll need to dig deep. Half ass won't cut it, Do or do not, there is no trying.

^^^ exactly the reason I don't use this shit. I don't need pretentious people throwing judgement at me because I'm not day whatever the hell y'all are at. A few people give me support and that makes me immune to relapse? It don't work that way I'm only fuckin human.
Everyone here is only human (except for maybe Diesel) We all find a way to post roll everyday, be accountable, and stay quit.
If we caved we would be answering those three questions posed to you by jlud. Balls in your court. Do you want to be a quitter? It takes a lot more than you showed last time!
Doesn't matter what day you are on princess, 1, 101, or 10001. We are all one bad decision away from Day 1. Maybe you can help others avoid what brought you back to day 1 and what you will do to avoid that pitfall in the future.

A little self reflection and soul searching will help you and others stay quit.

now quit acting like a patsy and answer the questions because we can alll see how well doing it on your own worked last time ;) .

Sorry we didn't kiss your ass and tell you everything is fine. There are sites like that out there, we aren't for everyone. What you don't realize is that we are not passing judgement, we are trying to help cut through the poor me addict bullshit we've all used before. So are you ready to man up and quit for real? We are nothing compared to the nic bitch in your head, she is the pretentious whore lying to you.
The number of days I or anyone else here supporting you has is irrelevant. Anyone who caves is asked to answer those questions. If you don't like it, you're free to go. You did it before. How did it go for you last time you left? Oh yeah...
Alright well here's what happened. I decided to quit in December of last year and I happened upon this website. Gave me the motivation I needed to quit, but I didn't look at it again after that day. Anyway, I play college baseball and we were on a long roadtrip in February. Been trapped on a bus full of tobacco spittin ball players for 8+ hours after just losing a 4 game set, struggling to keep up in my classes, girls were being bitches. I was sittin on the bus drained from the week, feeling down on myself and convincing myself that these were all good enough reasons for me to pack a lip. And yeah I did. And just like that I was back and my 2 months went down the shitter. It was easy to fall back to the old routines. I realize i need to make a change. I'm young and I don't wanna have to spend my 20s, 30s and so on a slave to a stupid can that gives me sores in my mouth and consumes my life. So I turn back to this. I hope that the roll call will help so I can be held accountable and so I see there's other people going through the same thing.
Okay, you seem to be wiling to get the help from KTC now that you have explained yourself. I think you still need to man up a bit though and come up with a plan of how this quit will be the final quit. What are you going to do different this time. What happens next season when you go on a losing streak or have that game with the golden sombrero, going to cave then. Maybe get some numbers here and get active, participate in your quit. We are all addicts man, all of us and you need to accept that and deal with that. Use Tony Gwynn as your motivation, he is gone way to soon and I bet would have given up his baseball career, as great is it was to live thru his 50's. Also don't hope here, there is no hoping here at KTC, only doing. We quit period! Post Roll and lets get on with it!
We don't use words like try or hope as they are just another excuse for our addictive brains to tell us another lie. There are no short cuts, but check your Inbox(1) for some links that will help you navigate this site.

Your quit dividend will be equal to the time and effort you put into building and protecting your quit. No excuses for age, schedule or players on the team. Its time to make an educated decision, develop a plan and execute it.

He is spot on.

Post roll everyday. Try to help as many people as you can quit. This will help your quit. Lean on us if you need help. Let's get to reading and quitting.

Right on man. I posted roll today and I'm posting it tomorrow too. The Tony Gwynn thing is huge. I'm using that situation to help. To be honest I don't have a 'plan' yet. I need to develop one, and I plan on it. But I figured the first step to quit dipping is to not dip. So as of right now the only thing on my mind is 'don't dip'. And I'm looking forward to being able to post day 2 tomorrow.
