The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

One week done.  Next one in the bag.  What is chew again?

Know I have to stay focused, but feeling better as a whole, I can stand my breath in the AM, Don't have to piss every 30 minutes (chew left me very dehydrated so was constantly drinking water), I don't have 10 full spitters (coke cans) hiding in my office, my oldest and his friends aren't watching me chew any more,,,,all is good.

Big test this weekend again as I no doubt will hang with a couple friends who dip, but I've advised them that I'm on this board and intent to quit for good.  Thanks for all the support.
Way to go, but keep your quit close. Hold it think about it, know it. My best friend chews, I have not seen him in 51 days, I am not ready. My dad chews, I have not seen him in 51 days, why temp it? My brother chews and I have not seen him either, why....well cause he is a dick 'jerk'

Anyway, you get my point be careful

Keep with it man. Take it one day at a time and stay quit. Anything with a strong taste will help. But something you can keep in your mouth longer will help more. When I quit smoking I chewed on liquorice root. I haven't tried it yet for quitting chew just because I haven't made it to town. But it is very strong tasting and you can rip a piece off and chew on it. Plus it is a natural antidepressant and stress supressor. Two things that can come along with quitting. You can get it at health food stores. If you can't stand liqourice ask them about other strong tasting roots to chew on.

Hey nice work man! I just read your intro and I can relate. I have two young sons (4yo and 5mo) as well, and I used to travel a shitload for work (thankfully I don't have to do that much anymore). I remember the days of suffering through business happy hours and dinners and whatnot, just trying to survive until finally I could go back to the hotel room and chew my brains out. And rental cars - after picking it up, it's straight a gas station (even though the rental car is full of gas) to grab a diet coke and an empty coffee cup. I remember once (I think it was in Ogden, UT) I had to drive the rental car all over hell because I couldn't find a gas station that sold Skoal. Never found one so settled for Cope or some other random shit. Ick. And was late to work to boot. Anyway, what a waste of time, effort, money, etc. Not to mention the fact that it was slowly killing me. Glad to be quit with you today (day 15 for me). Let me know if you need anything.
So, you see, the puppy was like industry, in that they were both lost in the woods. And nobody, especially the little boy - "society" - knew where to find 'em. Except that the puppy... was a DOG. But the industry, my friends, THAT was a revolution.

Robbie - got it.  24 hours in and will nail another one tomorrow.  Killin me and I want one but group is helping.
You don't want one. Your brain is just telling you that it wants nicotine. If the oral fixaton is pretty bad then use the seeds, though you said they're tearing up your mouth. I know a lot of other people used stuff like jolly ranchers or atomic fireballs. Might be less harsh on your mouth even though its got a lot more sugar. Or if you feel comfortable pick up some fake dip like Smokey Mountain or Jakes Mint Chew and go for a run before putting one in. Exercise is one of the best things you can do to get past the cravings.

The feeling of need for nicotine will subside and get easier to toss to the side as you remain quit. Which will happen once you get past the first few days and the withdrawals are over it'll start to go. Not to say you still won't get nic cravings, but they will start to become fewer and farther between and less intense.

Proud to be quit with you today
Try and live in today right now. Focus on staying Quit today and today only.Worrying about tomorrow or next week or 43 days from now does you know good right now.The more today's you can string together the easier tomorrow will be.Like Timeless said try some gum, flavored toothpicks or my favorite Jolly Ranchers.Drink lots of water and roll with the punches. It sucks for sure but it get's better I promise you.PM if you need anything. Proud to be quit with you today.

Cruising through sat. The first wave of hell behind me...even worked in the garage without a dip.

Next phase that always gets me is 7-10 days out...

Seeds tearing up the mouth.
