Long stressful day at work caused the worst crave I had had so far, i had to call in the big guns and went and picked up a tine of Smokey Mountain. Stuff is fantastic but damn I have been spoiled on pouches!! its probably been atleast 5 years since i straight cut and it showed.

Currently cleaning up the mess from trying to pack it... wish me luck..

Luckily as embarrassing as it may have been to anyone watching that still 1000000000x better than putting any of that cancer shit back in me.

Smile and look your addiction in the eyes. You are becoming free. Overcome cravings the first round...the next becomes soooo much easier.

Only today's fight is the focus. Keep smiling in your fight; you're winning.

1 week down.

I honestly used to not be able to go more than a day without dipping, (even my previous attempts would usually end in me buying a new tin within 48 hours)

Truly an amazing feeling. As always thanks to all my brothers on here. I know the fight is long and the cravings will come back even harder but feeling damn proud to quit with everybody in this community.
Congratulations! It does feel great, doesn't it? Keep your determination and keep using the tools here, you'll make it as long as you keep it one day at a time. I've been watching your quit and cheering for you- keep it rolling, you've got this!
Congratulations on a week. Way to go, that is something to celebrate and be happy about. Keep it up, keep posting and I promise each week gets even better.

Keep it up man!!
Hopefully you see the value now to post roll, keep your word and only stress and live quit today.

You made it a week! Hell yes! You may still feel like forever quit is impossible. Not true but not important either. You have proven to yourself that today is not a day to cave because you promised and can keep your word for 24 hours.

Keep posting roll and keep your word. You do this every morning you wake and you will not fail. Cavers fail when they don't post roll or break their word. Usually alcohol is involved when they break their promise.

Proud you made it a week and even prouder if you make today a quit day too.

Yep....thats how it's done. Thanks for keep your word brother. Thanks for telling your story. All that helps the rest of us remember why we never want to post a day 1 again. Post with the BOMB (may12) if you want some additional accountability. Congrats on some damn fine work...

Don't know what protocol is for updating my journey in here but felt its important to be more than just a name in roll call.

Yesterday was probably the hardest day so far as had about 4 hours in the car which would normally be prime dipping time. Then thanksgiving which includes a few beers which is always a trigger.

I even passed the hardest test which was passing up on the cigar and scotch nightcap with my dad and uncles which has become a tradition at family gatherings.

I woke up today felling really good almost like getting through a Thanksgiving while in the Suck was a major step.

Special thanks to Gdubya who has been awesome through texts giving me support and motivation I need as well as all the people in here who are constantly keeping me on my quit and on roll call every day.

Its definitely ODAAT but yesterday felt like a special ODAAT.

Thanks for the motivation the taking a lap around the building helped alot and so did the seeds

can happily say just wrapped up work at the office and heading home still on my quit.

Time to get home kiss my wife and daughter without any dip on my breath for first time in ages.

Im sure ill be back on here or chat tomorrow as I am sure it will get worse before it gets better.

Just curious as I have talked to multiple brothers who have recommended  Smokey MTN Snuff or etc as a replacement and was just curious what everyone thoughts on it were. Is it easy to give up as you get further along and past 100 days?
Just a couple pieces of advise that come to mind.....
EMBRACE the suck and make quitting your NUMBER ONE goal. Think about these two things right now. Today is my HOF Day and I am on top of the world. 101 days ago I could probably chew you under the table. Today, I am quit with you. Are you quit with me ???
Congrats man!!!

Honored to quit with you!
Great job on your quit. Run around that building as much as you need to. Your screen name implies you like swimming. If there is a lake by your job,,, well maybe that's to much.

You'll get a lot of different advice on the fake, but everyone will agree, use what you have to to keep the real stuff out. I used smokey mountain until around day 40. It was instrumental in the first few weeks. After that i found i didn't need it anymore.

The way i feel brother, if the worst you're worried about is fake you got a good quit going. Worry about anything you need to and keep yourself from putting the worm dirt in your pie hole. Swim, run, walk, use fake. Push ups, birpies, handstands, headstands, Gum, seeds, candy. You get me brother! Stay quit today,,, that's your goal. Need anything let me know. Glad to be quit with you.
I didn't see anyone answer about the smokey mountain herbal stuff. Some like it some do not. If it helps to keep you quit use it by all means. I have heard that as you get further along in your quit you will find you use it less and less. Several people on here use it even after a year. Security blanket style. You can also try Lipton tea bags, put it in cool water, open it up and pack it in. cheaper alternative and depending on what your poison was may have a better feel in your lip.
xuswimmer. I'm on day 10 today and I've used Smokey Mountain Straight on 3-4 of those days. Mainly if I had a beer or 2. The time I used it was a pretty amusing yet frustrating experience! I was sitting there waiting for the Smokey Mountain buzz "to hit" and then it didn't. I'm sure I will keep using it for a while, but it really doesn't do ANYTHING besides let's use do the same old spit action. I'm all for it, but hope to someday put it down too!

Swimmy - I dig seeing that you posted day 2 - congrats.

Day 1 was rough, but you nailed it. Day 2 probably won't be any easier - but you have already proven you can do it. So kill it today again!

Use the advice you are getting and kill it one day at a time.

Right here with you man,

Jayhawk

This right here is a huge win.. This is a positive attitude and positive reinforcement. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and my favorite holiday. This will be the first one where my family won't have to smell that nasty crap on my breath and I won't be ducking out early to have a chew. Wins are huge. Wins keep me motivated and make me look forward to more of them.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.
