Intro: During the first several weeks of my quit I developed gas that could have kept the Hindenburg afloat for a week and was probably just as volatile. These "events" weren't subtle; a "good one" would go on for minutes (it seemed) and they were of the nature of rotting onions. One day, while shopping in the local CVS drug store, I left a fifteen second profusion of this wonderful stuff but I stealthily stepped to the other side of the isle and pretended to be looking at the birthday cards. But, boy, was it rank. A few moments later a young couple came walking up the mined isle. The woman was obviously the Alpha Partner in the relationship. Think of the next few sentences as happening in rapid succession while I'm standing unseen in the next isle laughing my ass off (pun intended):

Gal: Ugh! Do you smell that? Someone just shit! Did you just shit?
Guy: Huh?
Gal: That's awful! It's nauseating!
Guy: Huh?
Gal: You're disgusting! I can't believe that you would do that in public!
Guy: What?
Gal: You know! It smells like something died inside you and just came out!
Guy: It wasn't me!
Gal: Let's get outta here before someone else smells this. I can't take you anywhere!


(As they left, I picked up a birthday card and when they rounded the corner I burst into tears laughing. I laughed the entire rest of the day and am chuckling still as I type this. The benefits of quit are endless.)

Words of Wisdom: When quitting if you cut a terrible fart in the local drug store quickly step to the next isle and wait; your reward will follow you!
