I was looking through some clothes tonight in a suitcase I had packed from this past weekend. I thought I had cleaned out all old dip but I noticed inside an almost full tin of my favorite Grizzly Wintergreen pouches. Man, they were still moist and everything. Pretty much calling my name.

I wanted nothing more to throw in that chew and delay the fog for just a few more days. But instead, I threw them fuckers right down the toilet.
The quit is strong in this one. If that happened to me on day 3, my quit may have ended right there. Keep up the great work man. I think we are gonna see this one at the HOF and beyond.
Awesome job brother, that would have been a fucked up surprise to find no doubt. Excellent job keeping your eye on the big prize, your freedom from the nic bitch and ultimately your life. Proud to be quit with you today and welcome to the May quit group. PM me if you need anything
Its_Got2Happen - I call bullshit on the first part of your message.

You're basically saying the only reason you didn't cave was because you were not challenged like this. Bullshit. Your quit is strong. If you were posting roll on day 3, you would have thrown them fuckers away too.

Of course, if you were flying solo days 1-3, then you're probably right.

Thanks for the support guys.

Had a long day today and wasn't able to get to my normal workout routine. I have a big meeting tomorow with my boss to discuss my projects and where I want to go for the rest of the semester. The meetings over lunch and man all I can think about is how my mind is going to be in a daze the entire time.

Goodnight all and thanks for the support, I'm ready for day 3 tomorow!!
Tmr. You're a smart guy with some free time. Pick up a book by Alan Carr called "The easy Way to Quit Smoking".

The Skoal Monster recommended it to me, and it was a real eye opener. Helped my quit tremendously.

Its an easy read and although it talks about quitting cigs its all about nicotine and how it works...and doesn't work.

Its good shit.
Thanks, man. I read a good amount so far. Seems interesting, but I'm not sure exactly where it is going yet.
Keep reading. It dispels a lot of myths and speaks the truth about nic addiction.

Its not 50 Shades of Grey. Sorry.

Hey Tim, welcome to the site! I'm a pretty recent quitter (day 45) and I can tell you that the "One day at a time" mentality really does make a difference in your quit. When you hit a rough patch, the 'addict' voice in your head will tell you to give in because "you can't quit forever, no way, why even try, you might as well have a chew now". Tell that voice to F*CK OFF. You dont have to quit forever, you're not gonna live nearly that long. Just quit for today. Do whatever you have to do to not put nicotine in your body today. I use hard candy, sunflower seeds, gum (not nicotine!), fake chew (BACC OFF and Smokey Mtn), and lots of exercise. Whatever it takes. Find what works for you, and do it. ANYTHING is better than going back, even if it means you pack on some weight temporarily, due to eating more.

Glad you're here, Tim, if I can help in any way, just shoot me a PM.

Rick

Ok Tim, Day 2 right? lets do this

You only have to do one thing today. Thats stay quit. It doesn't matter if you miss class, piss off your girlfriend, or even get anything done. The only thing you need to accomplish TODAY is to stay quit.

Keep your blood sugar up and steady- sweet juice will do that if you sip it.

Do not skip meals

Exercise- it is a proven crave killer

Watch the coffee/ caffiene intake- reduce what your used to.

TODAY is the only day that matters. You don't have to quit forever, just today.  Any fool can quit for a day. Even you.

sm
Day 2 is coming along. I'm actually down in Florida working for the semester so sitting around for 8 hours at a desk sucks thinking about dip pretty much the whole time. This is normally around the time when I would unwind with a lip after work, but I am staying focused about being dip free.

I hate the fog but I have been through it before so I know what I am in for.

Thanks for the support.
