Thanks everyone! Funny thing, I've always thought that I would be strong enough on my own to quit. Turns out, I wasn't. I can already see that joining this community was an excellent decision as you all have been fighting the same fight, and seem very supportive and friendly. I know I can stay quit with your support.
Thought i was strong enough to do it on my own for 38 years! And almost 2 years later I've got all the help I could ever need!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

I'm not strong enough on my own either. I was too macho about 4 days ago to admit it.

My wife has never had an addiction so there is no real great way for her to understand what I'm going through. As much as she has been there for me through thick and thin, I think this one may be beyond her skill set. Not her fault. My fault.

We'll do this together. Can't expect anyone else to understand. Others here have done it, so why can't we. 97 days to go until HOF. 1 day to go til day 4. 3 hours until exactly 72 hours nicotine free.

Rock on February 17 HOFs.

Quitting will be the best decision you have ever made. After a few days/weeks you will think you made a bad decision to quit, don't let your emotions run your mind. If you don't understand now, you will later.
I post and ghost a lot, dealing with life after dip and it gets better. 30+ year dipper myself. Trying to get myself more involved again with KTC because if it had not been for complete strangers, who now I call "BROTHERS" I would have caved a long time ago.

We are all NIC addicts here and no one will ever be cured, we are treating the addiction by way of accountability!
This site will help you succeed if you use the resources available here.

If you need someone to talk to about anything, HMU, I think I've been through it all and the other side is looking beautiful.

PM me if you need to chat

Hello everyone. I've been dipping for the last 10 years. I've been on and off the last 2 years though. I would love to quit as I'm afraid of cancer and the nicotine causes a lot of anxiety. I know I would feel so much better mentally if I could stay quit. I thought I was strong enough to do this alone but I've finally realized that I need help. I read an article on this site about someone getting mouth cancer and it scared the crap out of me. Just tossed all my cans and I don't plan on going back. I sincerely plan on staying off of the dip and I'm excited to join this community and kick the can for good!
Welcome Mav. Glad to have you!
Stay Quit, post roll, get on chat. See you there.

Thank you. I just read the post. That was a hard read but honestly it's what I needed. You never think that could happen to you and I'm scared to death that it could happen even after quitting, but at least I know that by quitting, things can only get better. I posted roll as well. I appreciate your help and your support!
I'm on my way to Feb 17 for you and Bokie. Glad to help!

Read the link on my profile. Jenny and Tom Kern. If that doesn't bring tears to your eyes and give you motivation. I'm afraid nothing will. Go to the February 17 quit group and begin posting roll. I will be proud to support you. Let me retrieve that link for you.
