Ok quick update:

I cant believe how kick ass this site and it's members are!!

I'm holding strong and really appreciate everyone who has posted or contacted me.

I have been drinking lots of water and using mints and some all mint snuff (no tobacco or nic.)
The motivation from the stories on this site are keeping my spirits high even as my mind is starting to feel foggy.

It means alot.to know that others have walked this path and not only have they remained free of the nic they are sticking around to help a whore like me. Pretty fuckin awesome!!!

Peace out
We have all been whores change the mindset and take your life back. You are doing it. Embrace the suck embrace how fuckin awful you feel its the poison leaving your veins. The first step in beating back the addict in you.
Way to rip off that patch this morning, post roll and quit! Welcome aboard. Do what you have to to stay quit today. You can do this!

Lots of good quitters reaching out with great advice Roughshod. Welcome to the best decision you'll make, as the others have said; seeds, gum, atomic fireballs whatever it takes to keep the dip out of you lip for now. Hang on for a great ride!

I'm sending you my contact feel free to text or give me a shout if you need anything!

Great decision. You have a great KTC Mentor reaching out to you in Worktowin, my advice is to take his advice and let him guide you through the process.

Prepare for war each day. Drink lots of water, find an alternative to dip (seeds, gum, jolly ranchers, lifesavers, fake dip, seeds, etc.). Exercise is a great help as well. When you get a craving do push ups or some other physical activity.

Remember the 5 Ps - Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance - If you do not over plan and commit to your quit your are setting yourself up for failure/caving.

If you would like another guide to help I will be happy to help you at anytime.

Best thing I have read on KTC...Submitted by tgafish on 7/3/14

Former Skoal Straight and Cope Longcut user that started at the age of 12. QUIT on 7/15/13

I have been a slave to the can for over 24 yrs and I'm only 35 yrs of age.

Congrats on a great decision,, I used for over 25 years and i'm 229 days quit thanks to the accountability and support of this site. If me and 1000's of others can do it you can. You also stated you were "apprehensive." Dive into this site and make this quit the most important thing in your life. Throw any apprehension you have in the same place you trashed your stash. Post roll daily and make a promise to yourself, us and everyone else you will not use for today. That's how quitting is done.

Neither did I or anyone else here when we first logged on. There is 1000's that have used this site to quit. You have come to the right place if you reeeeaalllyyy want to quit. Read, read and read. There is enough information on this site to keep you busy for days. Learn everything you can about your addiction. ONE DAY AT A TIME and you can take back a lot of what the poison has stolen. NEVER AGAIN FOR ANY REASON and you can keep it.

I saw your roll post,,,, Excellent.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Great decision to quit. You have all the stories and advice right on the KTC website. Read everything here: start with the welcome center and then read everything else. For stories of others quit journeys just hit the intro pages and go to the start of some threads. You will see that there are lots of common things in a dippers quit. First few days can be rough, but a big fat wad of poison will not leap from a can into your lip... If you choose not to slap a cat turd in your gob, then you will stay nic free... I will be quit with you all day. PM me if you need help.

Ok thanks worktowin!!

The patch has been ripped off and I threw away the remaining patches. I'm at work now so I cant clean out my truck of any old cans but I will when I get off. Today is gonna be interesting and I must say I'm apprehensive.

I'm new to this site (and not having nicotine) so any help is appreciated. I would love to hear all the great stories on here and any links would be helpful.

Good morning fellow addicts!! I'm Roughshod78. I have been a slave to the can for over 24 yrs and I'm only 35 yrs of age. Putting that into writing is very disturbing.
I really have no idea what I'm doing and I'm not sure if this is being posted in the right forum but I have a few general questions about this kick ass site.

- can I use the patch to help with quitting or does this violate the quit. I have read that people in the forums have no nicotine in their blood and the last thing I want to do is compromise anyones quit by my posting while using the patch.

- can I post roll and join a group now or do I need to remove my patch first?

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you and advice and feedback is more then welcome!!
Pull off that patch!

This is a no nicotine site. Using the patch is like quitting vodka by switching to beer. Prolongs the agony ! Rip that patch off and get to quitting!

It is not easy. Takes stones. But you've got them. You'll be in the January 2014 group - that is when you will hit 100 days. Once you've ripped the patch off and flushed every bit of tobacco out of the house/car/anywhere else... Head over to jan 2014 and post day one.

If you've been lurking, you know that is your promise to yourself and others that today you will be nicotine free. You can do anything for a day. But today will likely be a rough one. Hold on, cause this ride is like a roller coaster. At first it feels like you'll climb forever and feel a bit sick, but once you get past the initial suck , and you will, man what a ride! Best decision of your life. Welcome aboard (after you rip that patch off!)
