Hey guys, I am on Day 12 nicotine free. I have been watching this site religiously for the entire twelve days. I was a smoker for 8 years, and "quit" with snus. I secretly snussed two cans a day until 12 days ago. Nobody knew, not even my significant other, that I constantly had a little dip in my mouth. I'm having a hard time. Not with the cravings, but with the post nicotine depression. The fog comes and goes, but the mood swings stay. How much longer will this last???
Welcome! And congrats on a great decision.

Here's a pretty good timeline that's been compiled over the years. It's crazy accurate for most people: http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/wha ... t-dipping/

Head over to the February 2016 quit group and introduce yourself: topic/11383298/ All of the folks there are at the same stage of their quits.

Hang in there and keep on trucking. You're off to a great start!

Well, that's it! Game over. Quit an hour ago and I'll stay plastered to this site for the next 100+ days!
topic/11383298/

You need to go post "beenthere2 - Day 1" in Feb 16, which will be your group.

Congrats on a good decision. This isn't going to be easy. But it will be worth it.
Guess he didn't think it would be that hard. Hasn't even logged on for 3 days. So much fore being plastered to the site for 100 days.

Made it to Day 24 for the first time ever. I had dipped Grizzly WG pouches for over 4 years. I'm glad I came across this site. I still get absurd cravings regularly but I have been able to suppress them so far
Keep it up! Good work.
well done guys - you're in the right place!

let us know how we can help along the way. you're among friends!

Day 7 of going cold turkey! I've dipped about a can every 2 days for the last 8 years. I'm hoping this site will help me follow through! All advice and support is appreciated!
Congrats on taking the first step of a healthier cancer free life. Do whatever you have to do to stomp the nick bitch down. She will play mind games with you. Know that and you will be fine. Get smokey mountain, seeds, gum whatever you have do to. keep yourself out of high risk situations and also know that alcohol makes you vulnerable, so be mindful when you drink. Work out as well. Good luck!!!!Stay the course, your life depends on it!

Nomasdip, bad ass way to start your quit! Welcome to the ranks of addicts kicking nicotine to the curb one day at a time.

Check out the January 2016 quit group (dundippin is there), post roll with those quitters today and every morning, make your promise to not use nicotine for 24 hours to yourself and all here. It helps. The trade digits with some of those quitters (as dundippin already offered), a support network for quick answers or someone to bide time with during the fog.

Meanwhile, drink lots of water, exercise, read everything here on KTC.

Quit hard.

Nomasdip,

Welcome to the group and to the quit. I liked your write-up. Most of us enjoyed the dip and finally just decided to quit.

I just curled up in a ball and slept and ate my first three days. Sounds like you handled it better.

Way to go with the quit.

Most of this is focus. Focus on anything but you know what.

Feel free to reach out if you need someone to rage to.

What's up weirdos? Been dipping for just under 19 yrs and loved every bit of it. Started on the good shit, Cope fine cut, then moved on and have been addicted to RedSeal long cut natty. Started off slow for few years then really jumped in, been 1+ can a day for last 15 years. I knew I was addicted but didn't give a shit I really loved putting that big ol' wad in my mouth. I've gave a weak ass effort to quit before but I never really wanted to because I loved it too much but we all have our own reasons to quit and I never wanted to quit before like I want to now. So I'm only into day 3 but the longest 3 days I can remember. All I do is think about how good it would feel just once more to pack that can, dig my fingers in and get that perfect oversized wad that'll fit perfectly and last half hour or longer. But no, I've decided I really want to quit and I've put too much into these last three days to even think about giving in now. I've committed myself to this and I'm going to stick to it no matter how bad the suck is. It sucks balls honestly. It feels like a part of me is missing and it just feels weird. I haven't really been angry but the craving are pretty intense and from what I've been reading on here it sucks bad for two weeks. I hate the idea of myself being addicted to something to where I can't control it. Especially a product like tobacco. I hate the idea of throwing money away on something so useless that has zero return but can kill you. Somewhere out there I've paid for a few vacations for tobacco execs, but now the fucking vacations stop. Pick another sucker to get addicted. I'm saving close to $2000 a year by quitting. That's a shit load of money that could've been invested and over all the years I probably could've retired earlier. Any who I'm just rambling because I want a dip right now but I'll wake up tomorrow and start day 4 and take it one day at a time
