Do you know what caused me to go back to that chew?
Ooohh! Pick me! Pick me!!

It wasn't the patch and it wasn't the pain meds either.

It was the fact that you had no support and you had the pain meds to serve as an excuse for your weakness. That little voice in your head was cupping your balls and whispering, "I'm proud of you scroffy baby. You made it two whole weeks without me. These pain meds are really fucking with your head, eh? You must feel really weak right now? Not thinking straight? I know, let's get a chew. Maybe it'll even make the pain meds stronger. Oh no, no, no. Of course you didn't fail. It was the stomach issues. It was the pain meds. You did great my little dove."

Now, what's that voice telling you? "Scroffy, baby...baby listen. These guys are mean. They don't get it. You're my special little quitter. Just give me 100 more days baby. If you don't like me then, I'll leave forever. I promise. But hey, don't listen to these guys. They don't know you like I know you. You can't do this now. Life is tough. If you quit cold turkey, there's no way you'll last. You've tried that before. Remember those two weeks. You're making the right choice snooky. I love you."

'Finger' nic bitch!
I didn't think you were such an asshole but you are. Fuck you and your mom you fuckng sounders fag! I will quit however I want and that story was before I knew about any support....THIS ISN'T FUCKING SUPPORT THOUGH! You are just being a dick! It's that simple. I don't need this to quit. So see ya! You all are fucking fucktards!
OK. You play that game. Call all of us fucktards. Next time you get put on pain meds, make sure you've got them nicotine cocklozenges laying around.
Oh I will asshole I will!

After About 2 weeks after being nic free altogether, I ended up having some stomach problems that weren't related to the chew. Anyway, I had a lot of pain and the doctors at the ER hit me with a heavy pain med. Do you know what caused me to go back to that chew? It wasn't the nic patch! It was the pain meds! I absolutely craved chew when I came out of the hospital and I was higher than a kite!
Ya know what, quit however you want to quit, but like many have said, the people here are giving you advice.

BTW, you can't blame your cave on pain meds. You can blame it on not having the right tools to defend against the urge to use nicotine. But whatever, I'm sure you'll get all defensive at what I just said.

I really hope you quit.

I have to ask - why exactly are you here?

Not trying to be a dick - just curious.  Something brought you here today - I am interested in what it was.
At this point it doesn't matter what brought me here. I am not real interested in continuing this thread....obviously people here don't think I have really quit. Let me tell everyone a little story

About 3 years ago, I quit. I used the patch for a while and then got off of that and was completely free of Copenhagen. The patch really had helped and I was so glad when I was even off of that...For those of you who think this took a long time, try 2 weeks. That was all....Yes using the patch.

Don't tell me the patch or anything like that doesn't work! It works well if you are serious about quitting! That is why I believe in NRT's.
Believe all you want. If it worked - you would not be here right now having to go through your quit again. No one ever said they DIDN'T work. Unfortunately, you are proving the contrary at the moment.

Make no mistake about it - You went back to chew because like me, you are an addict. Plain and simple.

When you calm down and decide to listen and consider that another viewpoint just might have some merit, great things will happen for you. If you don't ever get to this point, you will be in for a long hard road in whatever you do. Think about it.

I am no where near in danger of caving. I just get pissed off with people who think that it has to be done a certain way. Incidently, I can quit whether I am on this site or not...this site doesn't make it or break it for me.

I WANT to quit and HAVE quit for reasons that make me never want to go back to that crap. Yes its hard...even with NRT's...I feel for me though I have a better chance of not going back if I use the NRT. The nicotine is the least of my worry...It is all of the other chemicals in COPENHAGEN that scare me to death and if I need to use NRT's while I break the habit of CHEWING that crap, then that is what I am going to do.

We all have a story...we all have used different ways to quit. I will never criticize someone else's way of quitting...as long as they are not using that insidious chew.

So for you people who don't like the fact that some of us use NRT's....Step off and deal with it! I could care less what you think! If you want to be helpful and supportive, then do so...if not, I don't need ya!

Also, it wasn't the thread that pissed me off...It was Greg40 who seems to like to be a smartass and thinks he knows somebody and thinks that he can talk shit and I will somehow respect that. Whatever dude...You are a moron for thinking that and your comment that you left me shows that.
I call Bullshit on your last paragraph (we'll leave the rest out of it for now). Go back and reread the beginning of this thread. YOU were the one who got defensive for zero reason after two people had tried to offer sincere support. YOU were the one who threatened to leave when the only thing posted was sincere support. YOU are the one who defined sincere support as bullying and badgering. YOU are full of shit. YOU are full of nicotine. YOU are full of excuses. Greg hadn't even shown his sexy avatar or mysteriously alluring words at that point.

Call whatever you want bullshit. Go ahead and think whatever you want.
I think you want to quit dipping. Congrats on no Copenhagen for 2 days.

But you are scared to throw away your crutch. The crutch is not "all the other chemicals".

Until you completely purge the NICOTINE from your system, your body will continue to crave and withdraw. You are feeding a viscious cycle with the NRT.

Your mindset and attitude will never get right to quit with nicotine still coursing through your veins.

Face the suck head on, and beat it.

Make your choice, freedom or not?

Scro,

Again nobody said you can't use the damn patch. Use a fucking nicotine suppository if you have to. Just use it as directed. The overwhelming advice is that you will be more successful without it. Thats all, nobody said anything about you not being quit. Like Rkymtn said , If you don't want help why are you here?

Smokey's right Steve. Lets Review shall we...

Ready Posts up a welcome

Welcome. Great decision. You will get many different oprinions on NRT's (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) My 2 cents is cold turkey is the best way to go. Here is a link you may find interesting and iformative...

A GOOD THREAD ABOUT NRT's

index.php?showtopic=2072
This is clearly not offensive as far as I can tell. I followed with this
Quote
I'm no doctor, but as nicotine is a stimulant, wouldn't it be better to just go cold? I'm not sure how lowering your heart rate and B.P would be a bad thing. Have you talked to your doctor about this? Perhaps he can give you some meds to help keep the stress of quitting at bay.
I don't presume anything about you or how you should quit, I only ask you some questions. Then you respond with this outburst.
Quote
Ok nice thread...I will not get into it with people on here about NRT's. If you don't like the fact that I am using the lozenge, then I will leave and too bad for you. This is how I am quitting COPENHAGEN. If that is a problem oh well. I am free and over 21 and will not be bullied or badgered by anyone.
As Smokey points out, you are the one feeling hostile and lashing out. Read up on dip rage little buddy cuz this is a clear case. I chewed for longer than you have been alive. The fact that this place was the only thing that worked for me and hundreds of others like me shows that it works. You want advice from guys that are successful quitters? Then shut the fuck up and listen. NRT's don't help you quit. Go do some research and you will find that the most statistically successful method of quitting does NOT involve NRTs. No one is telling you that you can't use them, we are telling you that in our experience you have a better chance without them. It's your choice.

You want to quit nicotine? your in the right place. If you want your balls cupped and for us to tell you your a super neat guy, and gee buttercup I think your plan is great then maybe you oughta go over to some other quit site. There ARE sites out there that are tolerant of failed quits and half assed attempts and general douchery.
This is not one of them. This site is for quitters.

Skoal Monster - 280days quit , 23 years of chewing 2 cans per day. God Bless KTC
