Just joined the CAN last night!!! still trying to figure out the site but glad to be here. I quit 9 days ago 3/13. Been on skoal wintergreen, cop  skoal peach sense I was 14 that's 40 years ago I'm sorry to say but enough is enough. I bought Hooch peach and it seems to be getting the job done for me so far. Wish me some luck!!!
Welcome! This site can be a little tricky at first, but you'll figure it out if you play around a little. I think they make it purposefully tricky because it forces you to spend some time figuring it out.

First things first, there is no luck. There is hard work, commitment, accountability and success. I am 325 days quit and the only role luck played was that I was lucky to find this site. I'm quit because every single day, generally before even getting out of bed, I posted a promise on this site that I would not use nicotine for that day. I kept that promise and will make the same one tomorrow.

Anyone can do it, but when you sign up for that, you are now accountable to your group. Your quit group is full of people fighting the same fight. You can't let those people down. I'll just about guarantee that on any given day, someone in that group is facing something more difficult than you are, so if they can stay quit, you have no excuse to cave.

Be prepared for a battle. 9 days is a hell of an accomplishment. You should be very proud of those days, but it doesn't end there. You will find never ending support from the brotherhood here. You will also find that people will drag your ass through the fire should that be required. That accountability is the rug that ties the room together.

So go find your quit group (yours should be June), post your name and day count and get to know your brothers. I won't wish you good luck, but I will hope for your success.

Hello all, 5 days ago I decided to make the long hard trudge to quit. Definitely glad I found a place where experienced quitters can help give some insight or shed some light on the rough journey. Copenhagen Longcut was my vice and boy do I miss it. Been dipping for about 4 years now and decided that it was time to kick it. Just wasn't feeling it anymore. It's definitely been hard trying to hang in there, seems like it comes in waves where I feel completely great and then crappy again. Any advice to help get through the early stages would be much appreciated. I work a high stress job and I just got off vacation so we'll see how going back to work goes.

Stay the course ladies and gents.

Welcome Far North! Nice job on 5 days quit. It isnt easy. Eventually you will learn to NOT miss the dip. The evil Nicotine bitch is always lurking, but as you move forward with KTC you'll gain tools, knowledge, and strategies to overcome these craves.

Im copying a bit from my post above, sure hope you can join the quit group, and post roll, good luck man,

Simply said, KTC and posting roll is the only thing that has worked for me in regards to quitting. Ive always found my way back to the can. Not today. I posted my promise to quit today.

When i get up tomorrow I'll post my promise. Just quit one day at a time. Its worked 581 days for me so far

Get active in your group. Be a leader, exchange phone numbers with guys. Try live chat if that's your thing.

Congratulations on your decision. Hope to see you join the quit group and feel the true power of KTC
Things are always going to be hard, difficult and stressful. There have been quitters go through a divorce, death of a loved one and many difficult challenges but were able to stay quit.
They understood that chew wasn't going to make anything better. If you want it we will be here posting roll each and everyday, #quitting

Welcome KFresh I'm Mav06 I am a member in the June 2017 quit group. Also a recent quitter 9 days deep to be exact and that after dipping for the past 15yrs probably not missing more than a couple sick days in that stretch. KTC has what seem to be some strange/intense methods to quitting but let me tell you first hand that they work. Posting roll and reading all the different material on the site will keep you on track and exchanging numbers to txt and posting roll daily will hold you accountable. If you have any questions you can PM me or anyone in the group, everyone is pretty willing to assist as long as you're serious about your quit. Quit on brother drink a lot of water to flush that nicotine out of your system and get some hard candies, smokey mountain, gum, I use Grinds, or anything else that will help curve that physical/oral crave.

Hi All,
Just started killing the can starting yesterday. I've been wanting to do this for the last year or so. Been dipping for the last 8 years, Thanks for all the support. I realized so far the hardest part is the habitual dips during the day and how to replace that time.

Kfresh423
Welcome to KTC and congrats on a great choice!!

Need help fellas! Been quite for over a month. Dipped for about 25+ yrs. quite because I had a strange feeling from my chin to the bottom of my throat. Went to an oral surgeon an a ear, nose an throat dr. Had visual by both dr's an CT an scope scan of my throat. No signs of anything! But I have this weird/tinder feeling! I am stressed out that I didn't get the right test done or wasn't able to access the problem properly to my dr.! Can someone help me that has dipped that long an quite??? Need y'all support please
Having similar sensations. Don't know any more than you do but I appreciate you posting. None of this is "normal" but it cuts down the panic to know others are having similar feelings.
A second qualified medical opinion is probably a good idea, but if you've already been cleared by a screening, then you're almost certainly ok. Doctors to miss stuff, so I wouldn't discourage a second opinion, but it will probably serve mostly to give you peace of mind.

This kind of stuff is extremely common with quitters in the first few months. Phantom pain, itch, rash, tingle, general weirdness etc. It can manifest itself differently between people, but overall it's a totally normal part of quitting. Also, it should eventually go away.

There are several possible explanations for why you are feeling strange. 1) Your body is healing. You're no longer doing damage to the tissue and this is the process by which your body is repairing the soft tissue. 2) You're hyper aware of any strange feeling because the health aspects of dip have hit home. You're on the lookout for something to be wrong because after 25 years, surely something must be. 3) Psychosomatic. It's all in your head. Your brain can do some funky shit. After years of tobacco abuse, your brain might be creating the feeling of a symptom because you expect something to be there. Sometimes people who have witnessed something shocking/ tragic might temporarily lose their vision without any physical cause. Your brain is going through nicotine withdrawal and is in full panic mode. 4) Night Elves. Big Tobacco hires these notorious little bastards sneak into your room at night and punch you in the throat when you sleep as punishment for quitting their product. Their tiny fists won't hurt enough to wake you up, but will definitely leave you sore.

It's possible that it's some combination of those factors. Eventually, when your quit isn't so fresh and your body/ brain has healed up, the symptoms will go away. I recommend glue traps for the Elves.
