Day 36 - rather than type them all out, I'll just say "CURSE WORD!!" to get them all out of the way.

I come here and read to try to help myself quit but lately, man this place has just become a massive drama show.  The craves are coming regularly and I'm struggling through a stressful day but I'm not finding any comfort here.

I'm staying quit but I'm going to take a few days off from the site except for posting roll in the morning.
Apogee. Take a few days off the site if you need to, just keep posting roll with me okay? I'll even do it for you via text if you want. I think you have my number, but if not just PM me.
Breathe in, Breathe out....

I too had a down period in the 30 day range, it is normal. But remember that you are winning. The score is 36-0 and you can keep piling it on by doing just what you have been doing....and that is posting that word of yours and honoring it.

You got this, no sweat. I believe in you. Hell I will quit today standing shoulder to shoulder with you.

So take my sword and gut that nic bitch today.

Post roll, take what you need and leave the rest. Get back when refreshed.

I've got a relative who struggles with heroin addiction. Although I'm extremely thankful I "only" struggle with tobacco addiction, I have now recognized that I need to take it as seriously. I'm quitting for me and Apogeeammo tomorrow.

Day 34 - Philip Seymour Hoffman died yesterday of a heroin overdose. He was 20 years clean when he caved last year. Very relevant to what we're doing here. He probably gave in to that "just one" mentality and ended up dead on his bathroom floor. As far as I know, you can't OD on skoal but, from what I've read, it is harder to quit than heroin and it can kill you with cancer.

RIP to a fine actor who will be missed. I'm quitting for Phil tomorrow!

It's good motivation but... Quit for you.

Only.
Always.

Took my son to see his favorite band last night! Queens of the Stone Age put on a fantastic show in Raleigh. If you like rock and roll, I recommend you catch their act!

And no dipping! Son was proud!

Here's the weird part, woke up this morning feeling guilty. Same way I used to feel when waking up after a heavy drunk when you can't remember parts of the night before but you know some of it was regrettable.

This was one of the most fun evenings I've had in a long time and my brain can't just let me enjoy it. Don't know if this is part of the quit but it was pretty strange.

31 days quit - woot!

The only thing I read is that your son was proud of his pops! What else is there!? That's what all this is about. So fucking quit with you!

Day 30 - Here's a little secret - I started this quest for financial reasons.  My insurance under the new law was going to go up by $2000 per year as a tobacco user.  Non-tobacco user cost (which was about $400 cheaper than tobacco user in 2013) was unchanged.  Add in cost of skoal-assume $4.50/can x 365 days  = $1643.  Add it all up, dipping was going to cost me $4000 in 2014.

I signed up for new 2014 insurance in November 2013 during open enrollment but kept dipping because, as I justified it, I was already paying for it so I might as well use it.

January 1 2014 kicks in and new insurance starts and I quit.  Initially, I thought "well if I can't live without it, I can switch insurance back to tobacco user and just pay more"

Then I made it through the first day, then I made it through the second day and the third day, then I posted roll for the first time and started hanging out with you people and the next thing I know....

I am at 30 days!

Today, I am not quit for financial reasons, even though my cost of a cave grows by $5.50 per day.  I am quit because I want to be quit and because I am proud to be quit.

Quitting with KTC again today!

PS - I just read back through all of my prior posts on this thread and it really struck me how great this community is!  In the last 30 days I've had more supportive comments from new friends than I've gotten in my whole life from the rest of the world.  Amazing stuff!

However you got here, I'm glad you made it and are part of the crew now. You just keep sticking around, you and your clown have grown on a lot of us! Keep rocking the quit!
Congrats on Day 30!!! If the math keeps you quit use it. Try calculating how much cancer would cost you:-) Lost work time, disability only paying out at 60% of your salary, driving back and forth for chemo, parking, straws to suck your food through, etc. Those numbers are staggering!!!! Not to mention your face looking like that disturbing little freak running around on your avatar:-) Enjoy the one month mark brother!
Rock on....stay quit....it just keeps getting better
Ammo, this whole analytical math equation insurance formula post really cracked me up. I have been following you and zillah. You both get it. Keep going!
