Scroffy - obviously all of the "bullshit" has faded away, so tell us - what's the current plan with the lozenges?  Still thinking abstractly or do you have a nicotine quit date picked out?  Have you spoken to your doctor about the potential heart problems you mentioned in your first post?  Inquiring minds want to know.  Inquiring minds want to hold you.......accountable.
I go and see my doc on Nov 9th. I will be talking more with her about NOT using the NRT. If she thinks its ok for the ol ticker to completely stop nicotine altogether without worrying about irregular heart beats, then cool, I will...

I have not used much of the NRT today. Maybe its because I have been extremely busy with working on my website. Anyway, I really don't see me using any NRT past the beginning of next week. How does that slap ya sexy? :P
Good stuff sweetmeat. Hope all goes well.

Congrats on your quit so far.

My dad stopped smoking 9 days ago. He's using the patch. I will give him some other things to consider to keep the quit at the forefront once his support class ends.
i have to call BULLSHIT here

dude i am the king of irregular heartbeats...pvc's, a-flutter, a-fib, v-tach, v-fib, long qrs, left bundle branch block, right bundle branch block...how in gods green earth do you think nic can help arrythmias? my EP was ecstatic when i told him i quit and did by cold turkey he said nic is a stimulant and can CAUSE abnormal heart beat not prevent them...see the electrophsyiologist and then tell me that they recomend nic

It's not that nic can help my irregular heartbeat, its when I go off nic altogether it starts to go into an irregular heartbeat. Not good. Maybe its stress I don't know. I am just about off the NRT altogether anyway. You can call it what you want to. I know my own body and every body is different.

You know we have already established that I am following the NRC directions and that I am also using it less and less. I really hope we don't have another go around like the other day. I am having a fantastic day and I plan to keep it that way. I haven't hit the copenhagen in 5 whole days! That is awesome for me!
Hell yes. Keep it up Scroffasaurus Quit. Can I call you Scroffasaurus Quit?

Seriously, I do look forward to hearing how your appointment with your doctor goes. Congrats on 5 days sans Poopenhagen.
Call me whatever you want dude :D Thanks for the congrats. It might just be that I won't even need to talk to the doc if I quit the NRT's...The reason I say that is I am almost out and am considering not buying anymore...Anyway thanks man!

I still haven't and won't cave! It's been ok today but I am struggling with the things I used to do with a dip. In other words, I am an internet marketer and I have been used to doing my work here at the computer with a dip in. It's weird not to have one in! I am eating a lot of tootsie pops lol!

Sometimes I start to panic....then I tell myself its ok and go to this forum and read about the people who have died and all the other horror stories. I am not going to be one of them! My wife and daughter are so much more important to me than that!

This morning I read Jenny and Tom Kern's story to my wife....we both cried. I am really glad that I found this website and all of you!

Steve
are you just getting up or haven't gone to bed yet????????? Drink more water it'll help flush that shit out and help you sleep better slowly
LOL I hadn't even go to bed yet....I just woke up now and slept great! Anywyas thanks for the advice! Day 4 baby! :D
Scroff, I also spend my whole day in front of the computer, which allowed me to partake in my favorite vise from the time I woke up till the time i went to bed. You can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go get some pure cranberry juice, toss the patch to the curb, and get on with your life.

I thought about the patch, went to the store and almost put them in the cart when I had a thought. I would be going through withdrawl everyday till I quit using them, and put them back on the shelf.

You are doing good and I respect this, but in my ( opinion ) you are prolonging the agony. My father used to smoke and i watched him try time and time again to use the patch untill it looked like he had the chicken pocks with patches, everytime. Only when he quit cold did it work.

But , as long as you quit I will support you. Just my 2 pennies worth.

Drinking water and juice will help, but only once you are off the NRTs. Flushing the system doesn't help if you keep reintroducing the drug.
